Treatment after bleaching for optimal bonding

چکیده

Regardless of bleaching regimes, the bond strength of composite resin or resin cement is reduced when bonding procedure is performed immediately after whitening. It is believed that the polymerization via free-radical mechanism is impeded by nascent oxygen remnant and peroxide in the bleached dental hard tissue. Because sodium hydroxide is used as a buffering agent to control the decreased pH, it does not guarantee optimal bonding. To handle compromised bond strength of pre-bleached dental hard tissue, use antioxidant like sodium ascorbate. As a practical approach, place 10% sodium ascorbate on the bleached surface for 10 minutes with agitation and rinse it with water before bonding.

Effect of Two-minute Application of 35% Sodium Ascorbate on Composite Bond Strength following Bleaching.

AIM The aim of this study is to assess the effect of 35% sodium ascorbate on microtensile bond strength of dentin immediately after bleaching with 35% hydrogen peroxide. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 25 sound human 3rd molars were collected. Teeth were randomly divided into five groups for different treatments: Group I [bleaching + immediate bonding (i.e., restoration)], group II (bleachin...

Tensile bond strength of brackets after antioxidant treatment on bleached teeth.

Various studies have reported a significant reduction in tensile bond strength of brackets when bonding is carried out immediately after bleaching. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effect of an antioxidant agent on the tensile bond strength values of metal brackets bonded with composite resin to human enamel after bleaching with carbamide peroxide (CP). A total of 80 extra...

Influence of post-bleaching time intervals on dentin bond strength.

It has been reported that bond strength of resin to tooth structure can be reduced when the bonding procedure is carried out immediately after the bleaching treatment. This study evaluated the effect of bleaching of non-vital teeth bleaching on the shear bond strength (SBS) of composite resin/bovine dentin interface and the influence of delaying the bonding procedures for different time interva...

Effects of green tea on the shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets after in-office vital bleaching.

The application of bleaching agents before placement of resin-bonded fixed appliances significantly, but temporarily, reduces bond strength to tooth structure. Antioxidants have been studied as a means to remove residual oxygen that compromises bonding to bleached enamel. This in vitro study evaluated whether green tea (GT) could restore the shear bond strength between bonded orthodontic bracke...
