Detection of knots and a cabling formula for A-polynomials

چکیده
We say that a given knot J ⊂ S is detected by its knot Floer homology and A-polynomial if whenever a knot K ⊂ S has the same knot Floer homology and the same A-polynomial as J , then K = J . In this paper we show that every torus knot T (p, q) is detected by its knot Floer homology and A-polynomial. We also give a one-parameter family of infinitely many hyperbolic knots in S each of which is detected by its knot Floer homology and A-polynomial. In addition we give a cabling formula for the A-polynomials of cabled knots in S, which is of independent interest. In particular we give explicitly the A-polynomials of iterated torus knots.

A cabling formula for the 2-loop polynomial of knots
The 2-loop polynomial is a polynomial presenting the 2-loop part of the Kontsevich invariant of knots. We show a cabling formula for the 2-loop polynomial of knots. In particular, we calculate the 2-loop polynomial for torus knots. The Kontsevich invariant is a very strong invariant of knots (which dominates all quantum invariants and all Vassiliev invariants) and it is expected that the Kontse...
متن کاملA cabling formula for the colored Jones polynomial
We prove an explicit cabling formula for the colored Jones polynomial. As an application we prove the volume conjecture for all zero volume knots and links, i.e. all knots and links that are obtained from the unknot by repeated cabling and connected sum.
متن کاملA Relation between the Kauffman and the Homfly Polynomials for Torus Knots
Polynomial invariants corresponding to the fundamental representation of the gauge group SO(N) are computed for arbitrary torus knots in the framework of Chern-Simons gauge theory making use of knot operators. As a result, a formula which relates the Kauffman and the HOMFLY polynomials for torus knots is presented. ⋆ E-mail: [email protected]
متن کاملAlexander Polynomials of Doubly Primitive Knots
We give a formula for Alexander polynomials of doubly primitive knots. This also gives a practical algorithm to determine the genus of any doubly primitive knot.
متن کاملCabling and Transverse Simplicity
We study Legendrian knots in a cabled knot type. Specifically, given a topological knot type K, we analyze the Legendrian knots in knot types obtained from K by cabling, in terms of Legendrian knots in the knot type K. As a corollary of this analysis, we show that the (2, 3)-cable of the (2, 3)-torus knot is not transversely simple and moreover classify the transverse knots in this knot type. T...
