چکیده

We construct stationary solutions to the barotropic, compressible Euler and NavierStokes equations in several space dimensions with spherical or cylindrical symmetry. For given Dirichlet data on a sphere or a cylinder we first construct smooth and radially symmetric solutions to the Euler equations in the exterior domain. On the other hand, stationary smooth solutions in the interior domain necessarily become sonic and can not be continued beyond a critical inner radius. We then use these solutions to construct entropy-satisfying shocks for the Euler equations in the region between two concentric spheres or cylinders. Next we construct smooth Navier-Stokes solutions converging to the previously constructed Euler shocks in the small viscosity limit. In the process we introduce a new technique for constructing smooth solutions, which exhibit a fast transition in the interior, to a class of two-point boundary problems.

Singularly Perturbed Odes and Profiles for Stationary Symmetric Euler and Navier-stokes Shocks

We construct stationary solutions to the non-barotropic, compressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations in several space dimensions with spherical or cylindrical symmetry. The equation of state is assumed to satisfy standard monotonicity and convexity assumptions. For given Dirichlet data on a sphere or a cylinder we first construct smooth and radially symmetric solutions to the Euler equations...

Uniqueness results for the generators of the two - dimensional Euler and Navier – Stokes flows . The case of Gaussian invariant measures

The Euler and Navier–Stokes equations for an incompressible fluid in two dimensions with periodic boundary conditions are considered. Concerning the Euler equation, previous works analyzed the associated (first order) Liouville operator L as a symmetric linear operator in a Hilbert space L2( ) with respect to a natural invariant Gaussian measure (given by the enstrophy), with domain the subspac...

Vanishing viscosity limit for incompressible flow inside a rotating circle

In this article we consider circularly symmetric incompressible viscous flow in a disk. The boundary condition is no-slip with respect to a 4 prescribed time-dependent rotation of the boundary about the center of the disk. We prove that, if the prescribed angular velocity of the boundary 5 has finite total variation, then the Navier–Stokes solutions converge strongly in L2 to the corresponding ...

On the lowMach number limit of compressible flows in exteriormoving domains

We study the incompressible limit of solutions to the compressible barotropic Navier-Stokes system in the exterior of a bounded domain undergoing a simple translation. The problem is reformulated using a change of coordinates to fixed exterior domain. Using the spectral analysis of the wave propagator, the dispersion of acoustic waves is proved by the means of the RAGE theorem. The solution to ...

On the inviscid limit for 2D incompressible flow with Navier friction condition

In [1], T. Clopeau, A. Mikelić, and R. Robert studied the inviscid limit of the 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in a bounded domain subject to Navier friction-type boundary conditions. They proved that the inviscid limit satisfies the incompressible Euler equations and their result ultimately includes flows generated by bounded initial vorticities. Our purpose in this article is to ad...
