چکیده

T ransradial arterial access for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is increasing in popularity. Its advantages are a significant reduction of vascular complications at the access site and immediate mobilisation. Same day discharge following transradial PCI is therefore possible and we report our initial experience with a consecutive group of 150 patients treated in a regional cardiac centre over a period of 21 months.

Transradial percutaneous coronary intervention for chronic total occlusion of coronary artery disease using sheathless standard guiding catheters

OBJECTIVES Our aim was to evaluate the feasibility and safety of routine transradial approach (TRA) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions using the sheathless technique with standard guiding catheters. BACKGROUND Transradial approach PCI was applied for CTO lesions. A major limitation of TRA CTO PCI is the inability to use large guiding catheters b...

Acute and Long Term Outcomes of Coronary Intervention in Unprotected Left Main Lesions

Introduction : Significant left main coronary artery stenosis jeopardizes the entire myocardium of the left ventricle and has the worst prognosis of any form of coronary artery disease. Coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been considered as the standard therapeutic approach for such patients. There are limited data on the safety and effectiveness of percutaneous coronary intervention (PC...

جراحی بای پس عروق کرونر بدون استفاده از ماشین قلب- ریه: روشی مطمئن برای ریواسکولاریزیشن کامل

In recent years off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB) has emerged as preferred method for revascularization of coronary arteries in relatively selected group of patients. Considering patients receiving incomplete revascularization need significantly higher postoperative catheterization and re-intervention (PTCA or CABG), we performed this study to identify safety and feasibility of th...

Safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender (GSS). The transradial (TR) approach has become popular because of several advantages, such as a reduced rate of vascular access site complications. However, because the radial artery is narrow, a limitation of TR access is the potential for artery spasm or occlusion. Studies of radial artery si...

Brachial approach for coronary angiography and intervention: totally obsolete, or a feasible alternative when radial access is not possible?

INTRODUCTION This study aims to assess the safety and feasibility of brachial arterial puncture for coronary procedures when radial access is not possible. Radial arterial approach is the usual option for coronary procedures in our hospital. Whenever radial access is not possible, the brachial approach is preferred instead of the femoral approach. As many clinicians considered percutaneous brac...
