Aortic valve bypass: a case summary and discussion of anesthesia considerations.

چکیده
Aortic valve replacement (AVR) is a common surgical intervention for symptomatic aortic stenosis. For many high-risk patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis, AVR is not an option. Aortic valve bypass (AVB), a less common surgical procedure compared to AVR surgery, can bypass a stenotic aortic valve in lieu of replacing it and can offer surgical intervention for candidates unable to undergo AVR. AVB is an alternative to AVR that avoids median sternotomy, cardiopulmonary bypass, cross clamping the aorta, manipulation of the native aortic valve, and aortic cannulation. This case summary reviews the anesthetic management of a patient undergoing AVB.

متن کاملSuccessful Repair of Type a Aortic Dissection in a Term Pregnancy: A Case Report
Stanford type A acute aortic dissection (AAD) is a very rare complication, with potentially lethal consequences in pregnancy. In fact, pregnancy has been regularly associated with the possibility of aortic. dissection in almost half of young women. Herein, we present the case of a 38-year-old woman in her 37th week of pregnancy. The patient’s medical history was indicative of G4L2Ab1(4 gestaiti...
متن کاملBicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
متن کاملAortic valve replacement complicated by bronchial artery hemorrhage.
INTRAPULMONARY BLEEDING after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is an uncommon but well-known adverse event that presents both diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Diagnostic challenges relate to the lung’s dual arterial supply, and therapeutic challenges involve concerns with the amount of ventilatory capacity that may need to be sacrificed to achieve hemostasis. The pulmonary artery (PA) is, by ...
متن کاملA rare case of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis complicated with multiple fistula to peri aortic structure
Multiple aorto-cardiac cavity communications is very rare but important complication of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis. The case below illustrates multiple aorto-cardiac cavity fistula formation following prostethic aortic valve endocarditis presented with slowly progressive symptoms of heart failure. A brief review of surgical reconstruction and the existing literature are presented, i...
