چکیده

For dielectric periodic gratings, we propose the combination of a spectral-domain volume integral equation and Fourier factorization rules to address the Gibbs phenomenon caused by jumps in both the fields and the permittivity. From a theoretical point of view we discuss two ways to overcome the computational complexity caused by the inverse rule by changing the fundamental unknowns of the underlying electromagnetic problem. The resulting numerical system is solved iteratively and the corresponding matrix-vector product has an O(NM log M) complexity, where M is the number of Fourier modes and N is the number of sample points in the longitudinal direction.

Efficient analysis of deep high-index-contrast gratings under arbitrary illumination.

An efficient method for computing the problem of an electromagnetic beam transmission through deep periodic dielectric gratings is presented. In this method the beam is decomposed into a spectrum of plane waves, transmission coefficients corresponding to each such plane wave are found via Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis, and the transmitted beam is calculated via inverse Fourier integral. To mak...

Maxwell equations in Fourier space: fast-converging formulation for diffraction by arbitrary shaped, periodic, anisotropic media.

We establish the most general differential equations that are satisfied by the Fourier components of the electromagnetic field diffracted by an arbitrary periodic anisotropic medium. The equations are derived by use of the recently published fast-Fourier-factorization (FFF) method, which ensures fast convergence of the Fourier series of the field. The diffraction by classic isotropic gratings a...

A volume integral equation method for periodic scattering problems for anisotropic Maxwell’s equations

This paper presents a volume integral equation method for an electromagnetic scattering problem for three-dimensional Maxwell’s equations in the presence of a biperiodic, anisotropic, and possibly discontinuous dielectric scatterer. Such scattering problem can be reformulated as a strongly singular volume integral equation (i.e., integral operators that fail to be weakly singular). In this pape...

The Wave Equation in Non-classic Cases: Non-self Adjoint with Non-local and Non-periodic Boundary Conditions

In this paper has been studied the wave equation in some non-classic cases. In the  rst case boundary conditions are non-local and non-periodic. At that case the associated spectral problem is a self-adjoint problem and consequently the eigenvalues are real. But the second case the associated spectral problem is non-self-adjoint and consequently the eigenvalues are complex numbers,in which two ...

‎Solving Some Initial-Boundary Value Problems Including Non-classical ‎C‎ases of Heat Equation By Spectral and Countour Integral ‎Methods‎

In this paper, we consider some initial-boundary value problems which contain one-dimensional heat equation in non-classical case. For this problem, we can not use the classical methods such as Fourier, Laplace transformation and Fourier-Birkhoff methods. Because the eigenvalues of their spectral problems are not strictly and they are repeated or we have no eigenvalue. The presentation of the s...
