Relationship between growth during the fattening period and lung lesions at slaughter in swine

چکیده
The examination of lung lesions on fattening pigs at slaughter is a useful tool for estimating the importance of respiratory diseases in a farm. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between prevalence and extent of lung lesions at slaughter and the previous pig growth during the fattening period. Data were collected on near of 7000 pigs from 14 French farms, individually identified, weighed, and then scored at slaughter. Simple notation scales (0 to 28 for pneumonia, 0 to 2 for pleurisy), easy to apply during the slaughtering process, were used.

The effects of vaccinating pigs for mycoplasmal pneumonia in a swine herd affected by enzootic pneumonia
We compared weight gain, feed disappearance, coughing prevalence, and lung lesion scores among pigs vaccinated against Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (treatments I and 2) and nonvaccinated controls. Pigs in both vaccinated treatment groups gained significantly more weight (0.14 Ib per day, P < .05) during the finishing phase when grow-finish data were pooled and compared to the control group. Pigs in...

Castration of male animal's leads to a reduction in aggressive behavior, which animals will avoid wasting energy resulting to economic production of the animal, grows. It also reduces damage and bruising animals and increases normed meat producing at slaughter. In this study, 20 lambs Ghezel breed in four age groups, group 1: one month (n = 4), group 2: two months (n = 4) Group 3: three months ...
متن کاملThe relationship between infectious and non-infectious herd factors with pneumonia at slaughter and productive parameters in fattening pigs.
This paper explores the relationship between infectious and non-infectious herd factors with the occurrence of pneumonia at slaughter and productive parameters in fattening pigs on 39 fattening herds. A questionnaire was used to obtain environmental and management factors (non-infectious factors). Blood samples and lungs were obtained from 35 pigs in each herd at slaughter. Serological testing ...

This study was conducted to compare the feedlot performance and growth traits of Lori-Bakhtiari (n=39), Romanov × Lori-Bakhtiari (n=38) and Pakistani × Lori-Bakhtiari crossbred (n=12) lambs during two consecutive years. Lambs were weaned at the age of 90 ± 5 days. After weaning and preliminary fattening period, three groups of lambs were fattened for 90 days in the same conditions. The resul...
