Toppling numbers of complete and random graphs

چکیده
We study a two-person game played on graphs based on the widely studied chip-firing game. Players Max and Min alternately place chips on the vertices of a graph. When a vertex accumulates as many chips as its degree, it fires, sending one chip to each neighbour; this may in turn cause other vertices to fire. The game ends when vertices continue firing forever. Min seeks to minimize the number of chips played during the game, while Max seeks to maximize it. When both players play optimally, the length of the game is the toppling number of a graph G, and is denoted by t(G). By considering strategies for both players and investigating the evolution of the game with differential equations, we provide asymptotic bounds on the toppling number of the complete graph. In particular, we prove that for sufficiently large n 0.596400n < t(Kn) < 0.637152n . Using a fractional version of the game, we couple the toppling numbers of complete graphs and the binomial random graph G(n, p). It is shown that for pn ≥ n √ logn asymptotically almost surely t(G(n, p)) = (1 + o(1))p t(Kn).

Incidence dominating numbers of graphs
In this paper, the concept of incidence domination number of graphs is introduced and the incidence dominating set and the incidence domination number of some particular graphs such as paths, cycles, wheels, complete graphs and stars are studied.
متن کاملComplete Convergence and Some Maximal Inequalities for Weighted Sums of Random Variables
Let be a sequence of arbitrary random variables with and , for every and be an array of real numbers. We will obtain two maximal inequalities for partial sums and weighted sums of random variables and also, we will prove complete convergence for weighted sums , under some conditions on and sequence .
متن کاملOn the Graphs Related to Green Relations of Finite Semigroups
In this paper we develop an analog of the notion of the con- jugacy graph of nite groups for the nite semigroups by considering the Green relations of a nite semigroup. More precisely, by de ning the new graphs $Gamma_{L}(S)$, $Gamma_{H}(S)$, $Gamma_{J}(S)$ and $Gamma_{D}(S)$ (we name them the Green graphs) related to the Green relations L R J H and D of a nite semigroup S , we first atte...
متن کاملEnergy of Graphs, Matroids and Fibonacci Numbers
The energy E(G) of a graph G is the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of G. In this article we consider the problem whether generalized Fibonacci constants $varphi_n$ $(ngeq 2)$ can be the energy of graphs. We show that $varphi_n$ cannot be the energy of graphs. Also we prove that all natural powers of $varphi_{2n}$ cannot be the energy of a matroid.
متن کاملOn the Complexity of n-player Toppling Dominoes
Why are n-player games much more complex than two-player games? Is it much more difficult to cooperate or to compete? n-player Toppling Dominoes is an n-player version of Toppling Dominoes, a two-player combinatorial game. Because of queer games, i.e., games where no player has a winning strategy, cooperation is a key-factor in nplayer games and, as a consequence, n-player Toppling Dominoes pla...
