چکیده

The three-dimensional Edwards-Anderson and mean-field Sherrington-Kirkpatrick Ising spin glasses are studied via large-scale Monte Carlo simulations at low temperatures, deep within the spin-glass phase. Performing a careful statistical analysis of several thousand independent disorder realizations and using an observable that detects peaks in the overlap distribution, we show that the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick and Edwards-Anderson models have a distinctly different low-temperature behavior. The structure of the spin-glass overlap distribution for the Edwards-Anderson model suggests that its low-temperature phase has only a single pair of pure states.

Multi-overlap simulations of free-energy barriers in the 3D Edwards–Anderson Ising spin glass

We report large-scale simulations of the three-dimensional Edwards–Anderson Ising spin-glass model using the multi-overlap Monte Carlo algorithm. We present our results in the spin-glass phase on free-energy barriers and the non-trivial finite-size scaling behavior of the Parisi order-parameter distribution.  1999 Elsevier Science B.V. Some aspects of infinite range models of spin glasses: theory and numerical simulations

The expression " spin glasses " was originally coined to describe metallic alloys of a non-magnetic metal with few, randomly substituted, magnetic impurities. Experimental evidences where obtained for a low temperature " spin-glass " phase characterized by a non-periodic freezing of the magnetic moments (the spins) with a very slow, and strongly history dependent, response to external perturbat...

Finite-size critical scaling in Ising spin glasses in the mean-field regime.

We study in Ising spin glasses the finite-size effects near the spin-glass transition in zero field and at the de Almeida-Thouless transition in a field by Monte Carlo methods and by analytical approximations. In zero field, the finite-size scaling function associated with the spin-glass susceptibility of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick mean-field spin-glass model is of the same form as that of one...

Study of ±J Ising Spin Glasses via Multicanonical Ensemble

We performed numerical simulations of 2D and 3D Edwards-Anderson spin glass models by using the recently developed multicanonical ensemble. Our ergodicity times increase with the lattice size approximately as V 3. The energy, entropy and other physical quantities are easily calculable at all temperatures from a single simulation. Their finite size scalings and the zero temperature limits are al...

replica equivalence in the edwards - anderson model

After introducing and discussing the link-overlap between spin configurations we show that the Edwards-Anderson model has a replicaequivalent quenched equilibrium state, a property introduced by Parisi in the description of the mean-field spin-glass phase which generalizes ultrametricity. Our method is based on the control of fluctuations through the property of stochastic stability and works f...
