چکیده

This article introduces a new method for statistically comparing pairs of aggregate data series. Aggregate data series refers to a set of values, each of which is averaged or otherwise aggregated across respondents. Themotivating problem is the comparison of aggregate proximity matrices, such as those obtained from pile sort exercises. The standard approach to this problem uses the nonparametric, permutation-based quadratic assignment program (QAP) technique. However, the null distribution that QAP is based on is inappropriate for comparing subsamples of a data set andmay lead tomisleading conclusions. The newmethod can yield different results than QAP, results more in line with researchers’ intuition. Furthermore, the method can be applied to a variety of data types beyond those appropriate forQAP.

A Multiple Group Measurement Model of Children ' s Reports of Parental Socioeconomic Status

An important class of applications of measurement error or constrained factor .analytic models consists of comparing models for se~eral populations. In such cases it is appropriate to 1DClke explicit statistical tests of model similarity across groups and to constrain some parameters of the models to be equal across groups using a priori substantive information. This paper .~ discusses a statis...

ارائه روشی پویا جهت پاسخ به پرس‌وجوهای پیوسته تجمّعی اقتضایی

Data Streams are infinite, fast, time-stamp data elements which are received explosively. Generally, these elements need to be processed in an online, real-time way. So, algorithms to process data streams and answer queries on these streams are mostly one-pass. The execution of such algorithms has some challenges such as memory limitation, scheduling, and accuracy of answers. They will be more ...

Inference for Product Competition and Separable Demand

This paper presents a methodology for identifying groups of products that exhibit similar patterns in demand and responsiveness to changes in price using store-level sales data. We use the concept of economic separability as an identification condition for different product groups, and build a weakly separable model of aggregate demand. A common issue with separable demand models is that the pa...
