چکیده
Explanted cotyledons from cineraria ‘Jester Pink’ seeds were cultured in vitro on a modified Murashige–Skoog medium containing (in M): 13.5 NAA, 13.5 2,4-D, 4.4 BAP, 13.5 NAA + 4.4 BAP, 13.5 2,4-D + 4.4 BAP or no plant growth regulators (control). Photographs were taken at 7-day intervals for 35 days to follow the embryogenic/organogenic development of the explanted cotyledons. Calorespirometric (metabolic heat rate, Rq a a h s ©

In this study, the aging and deterioration mechanisms in the plastic bonded explosives (PBXs) and their components as well as standard methods for their evaluating are presented. Also, the techniques developed for the prediction of chemical lifetime and service life of PBXs will be reviewed and analyzed. These methods cite the lifetime prediction methods based on weight/energy loss by thermal a...
متن کاملBiological Applications of Isothermal Titration Calorimetry
Most of the biological phenomena are influenced by intermolecular recognition and interaction. Thus, understanding the thermodynamics of biomacromolecule ligand interaction is a very interesting area in biochemistry and biotechnology. One of the most powerful techniques to obtain precise information about the energetics of (bio) molecules binding to other biological macromolecules is isoth...
متن کاملErratum to: Can calculation of energy expenditure based on CO2 measurements replace indirect calorimetry?
BACKGROUND Methods to calculate energy expenditure (EE) based on CO2 measurements (EEVCO2) have been proposed as a surrogate to indirect calorimetry. This study aimed at evaluating whether EEVCO2 could be considered as an alternative to EE measured by indirect calorimetry. METHODS Indirect calorimetry measurements conducted for clinical purposes on 278 mechanically ventilated ICU patients wer...
متن کاملHuman heat balance during postexercise recovery: separating metabolic and nonthermal effects.
Previous studies report greater postexercise heat loss responses during active recovery relative to inactive recovery despite similar core temperatures between conditions. Differences have been ascribed to nonthermal factors influencing heat loss response control since elevations in metabolism during active recovery are assumed to be insufficient to change core temperature and modify heat loss ...
متن کاملEntropy production in ac-calorimetry
In calorimetry and particularly in heat capacity measurements, different characteristic relaxation time constants may perturb the experiment which cannot be considered at thermodynamic equilibrium. In this case, thermodynamics of irreversible processes has to be taken into account and the calorimetric measurements must be considered as dynamic. In a temperature modulated experiment, such as ac-...
