چکیده

This paper addresses the impact of power devices switching characteristics on design and performance of pulsewidth-modulated current stiff converter (CSC) topologies with resonant snubbers. The MOS turn-off (MTO) thyristors were selected for this study due to their high voltage and current ratings, simplified gate drive circuitry, unity gain turn-off, greatly reduced storage time allowing higher switching frequencies, and reverse voltage blocking capability. The analysis presented in this paper is supported by experimental data obtained from a CSC commutation cell capable of reproducing all the commutation processes in the current stiff converter topologies with active resonant snubbers. Issues involved in the implementation of the commutation cell itself and MTO characteristics relevant for their operation in CSC topologies with resonant snubbers are addressed in detail in this paper.

Single-Capacitor Phase-Controlled Series Resonant Converter

A new phase-controlled series resonant dddc converter is described, analyzed, and experimentally verified. The circuit comprises a phase-controlled inverter and a Class D current-driven rectifier. The phase-controlled inverter consists of two switching legs, two resonant inductors, and a single resonant capacitor connected in series with an ac load. The phase shift between the voltages that dri...

Introduction and Analysis of a Novel Quasi - Series Resonant DC Link

Soft Switcing techniques have recently been applied in the design of dc-ac converters, in order to achive better performance, higher efficiency, and power density. One of the soft switching techniques uesd in inverters is resonant dc links. These topologies have some disadvantages such as irregular current peaks, large voltage peaks, uncotrollble pulse width, etc. Another soft switching method ...

Reducing IGBT losses in ZCS series resonant converters

The fundamental operational parameter that controls the losses In series resonant converters was round to be the (reflected) DC voltage transfer ratio. Losses which are a function of the average current (such as conduction losses of IGBTs and diodes) are independent of the s\vltchlng frequency. Losses which are associated with the rms current are a function of both the (reflected) DC voltage ra...

Investigation of Novel Transformerless Converters for DC Microgrid: Design and Analysis

This paper proposes two new soft-switching transformerless converters with high voltage conversion ratio. These proposed converters achieve soft-switching each with a single auxiliary resonant cell. The merit of these converters is reduced switching losses with lesser number of devices. The main switching devices are turned off with zero current switching (ZCS). Apart from the soft-switching fe...
