Transoral Surgery for Laryngeal Cancer: Bleeding Complications
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Transoral surgery is nowadays, the first therapeutic option in many centers around the world to treat laryngeal cancer with early T (Tis-T1-T2), and it is a possibility for the treatment of T3 tumors. This technique allows the use of different types of surgical dispositives, including radiofrequency, electrocautery and laser [1-3]. The advantage is that it has the same oncologic results that open surgery but with less morbidity [1]. Like any surgical technique, transoral surgery has possible complications, which are rare but should be taken into account; one of them is postoperative bleeding, which is the topic of discussion of this article.

The Study of Vocal Function in Patients With Early Laryngeal Carcinoma After Transoral Laser Microsurgery
Objective Today transoral laser microsurgery is considered as one of the first options to control early laryngeal cancer, and voice disorder is one of the inevitable complications of this therapeutic component. This study aimed to compare the vocal function in patients with early-stage laryngeal cancer following laser surgery with healthy individuals with normal voice quality using acoustic ana...

Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser surgery as a conservative tool plays a peculiar role in the management of head and neck cancer. Numerous patients who were candidates for transoral laryngeal microsurgery have forced us to eliminate frozen-section evaluation of surgical margins and use a magnified view of the larynx. The present study evaluated surgeon-judged negative margins with permanent microscopi...

AIM Curative treatment options for laryngeal carcinoma include primary radiation therapy, open surgical techniques and transoral laser surgery (TLS). In the last decade, TLS has become an important tool in the treatment of laryngeal cancer and has become the standard approach in many institutions. The aim of this study was to review the experience of a single center institution with TLS for ear...

BACKGROUND Endoscopic-assisted transoral surgery, including transoral robotic surgery for metastatic retropharyngeal lymph node (RPN) from well-differentiated thyroid cancer, has been reported to reduce the complications resulting from transcervical and transmandibular approaches. However, the narrow working space and difficulty identifying RPN are problematic. To solve these issues, several st...
متن کاملEvidence and evidence gaps of laryngeal cancer surgery
Surgical treatment of laryngeal cancer has been established for decades. In addition to total laryngectomy, which was first performed in 1873, a large number or organ preservation surgical techniques, like open partial laryngectomy, transoral laser microsurgery, and transoral robotic surgery have been developed. Studies on laryngeal cancer surgery are mainly retrospective case series and cohort...
