چکیده

-A progress report and the research plan for a new method of antitumor immunization using the intralymphatic route are presented. A total of 205 intralymphatic infusions of intact cellular vaccines have been performed in normal and tumorbearing dogs. In vitro and in vivo experiments on normal dogs demonstrated that intralymphatic immunization produces a more rapid and more intense qytotoxic cellular immune response compared to the subcutaneous route. ExI~eriments in tumor-bearing dogs showed reduction or stabilization of tumor mass after intralymphatic infusion of irradiated malignant cells. These data indicate that intralymphatic immunization may be the method of choice for stimulating strong cellular immune responses to weakly immunogenic materials.

Intralymphatic immunization enhances DNA vaccination.

Although DNA vaccines have been shown to elicit potent immune responses in animal models, initial clinical trials in humans have been disappointing, highlighting a need to optimize their immunogenicity. Naked DNA vaccines are usually administered either i.m. or intradermally. The current study shows that immunization with naked DNA by direct injection into a peripheral lymph node enhances immun...

Identification of Biological Properties of Intralymphatic Tumor Related to the Development of Lymph Node Metastasis in Lung Adenocarcinoma

BACKGROUND Intralymphatic tumors in the extratumoral area are considered to represent the preceding phase of lymph node metastasis. The aim of this study was to clarify the biological properties of intralymphatic tumors susceptible to the development of lymph node metastasis, with special reference to the expression of cancer initiating/stem cell (CIC/CSC) related markers in cancer cells and th...

Intralymphatic histiocytosis. A clinicopathologic study of 16 cases.

Intralymphatic histiocytosis is a rare condition characterized by the presence of dilated lymphatic vessels containing aggregates of mononuclear histiocytes (macrophages) within their lumina. Although its pathogenesis remains uncertain, there has been speculation about the possible relationship between intralymphatic ...

A pilot program to improve vaccination status for hospitalized children.

OBJECTIVES Screening of immunization status at each health care encounter is recommended to improve immunization coverage rates but is often limited to primary care practices. A pilot intervention study was performed to ascertain the immunization status of hospitalized children and determine if development of an immunization plan before discharge would improve the vaccination status for such ch...
