The serum was put up against all the strains of leptospira then available in the laboratory, viz, strain Chopra (classical L. icterohcemorrhagice), Mg. Tin Tin (= Java bat strain), Andaman CH 31, Andaman CH 11, and L. canicola. It failed to agglutinate all these strains except L. canicola.
