[Recommendations for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus in high-risk pediatric groups].

Respiratorni sincicijalni virus (RSV), RNA virus grupe Pneumovirus genus, familije Paramyxoviridae, uzrokuje bolesti respiratornog trakta kod dece i odraslih . Do navršene prve godine života 50% dece je inficirano RSV virusom i 20-40% te odojčadi razvije infekciju donjih respiratornih puteva ispoljenu kao bronhiolitis ili pneumonija. Inače, poseban rizik od komplikacija i smrtnog ishoda usled RSV infekcije postoji kod odojčadi sa hroničnom plućnom bolesti po tipu bronhopulmonalne displazije (BPD) i cistične fibroze, kao i kod pojedinih kategorija dece sa urođenim srčanim manama . Tokom RSV sezone u 2008-2009. godini u Institutu za zdravstvenu zaštitu majke i deteta Srbije „Dr Vukan Čupić“ po prvi put je u našoj sredini sprovedena sistematska laboratorijska dijagnostika kojom je infekcija RSV potvrđena kod 91 hospitalizovanog deteta neonatalnog i odojačkog uzrata. Smrtni ishod nastupio je kod dva odojčeta: jednog sa BPD i drugog sa urođenom srčanom manom i Downovim sindromom. U navedenom periodu zabeležen je i jedan smrtni ishod kod bolesnika sa BPD lečenog u Institutu za neonatologiju, kod koga je takođe dokazana RSV infekcija .
