چکیده

Note Chromosomal deletions are among the most common genetic events observed in hematologic malignancies; loss of genetic materiel is regarded as a hallmark of putative tumor suppressor gene localization. Deletions 13q occurs in lymphoid neoplasias: see del(13q) in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and del(13q) in chronic lymphoproliferative diseases. In myeloid disorders, the most frequently reported deletions affect chromosomes 5, 7 and 20 (del(5q), del(7q), and del(20q), but deletion of chromosome 13 is another relatively common aberration.

A Case of Near-triploidy in Myelodysplastic Syndrome with del(5q) Combined with del(1p) and del(13q)

Numerical and structural chromosomal abnormalities are common in hematological malignancies. Near-triploidy (58-80 chromosomes) is a numerical abnormality observed in 3% of adult cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Near-triploidy is rare in myeloid lineage hematologic malignancies and compared to near-triploidy in lymphoid malignancies, near-triploidy in myeloid malignancies is associated wi...

Molecular delineation of 13q deletion boundaries in 20 patients with myeloid malignancies.

Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis with a panel of DNA probes for 13q13.1-q14.3 was performed on 20 cases of myeloid malignancies, of which 17 showed a del(13)(q) and three had translocations affecting 13q. By chromosome morphology, deletions consistently involved bands q14 and q21. In addition to confirming the chromosome data, FISH allowed us to delineate a commonly deleted reg...

Array-based genomic screening at diagnosis and during follow-up in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

BACKGROUND High-resolution genomic microarrays enable simultaneous detection of copy-number aberrations such as the known recurrent aberrations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia [del(11q), del(13q), del(17p) and trisomy 12], and copy-number neutral loss of heterozygosity. Moreover, comparison of genomic profiles from sequential patients' samples allows detection of clonal evolution. DESIGN AND ...

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria with deletion of chromosome 13q (q12q14): a case report and review of the literature.

A normal karyotype is usually present in cases of classic paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), whereas chromosomal abnormalities involving chromosome bands 13q12 to 13q14 (13q12q14) are frequently found in various hematologic malignancies, including chronic lymphoblastic leukemia (CLL) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Here, we present a case of a 55-year-old male patient with PNH who h...

Cytogenetic characterization of putative human myeloblastic leukemia cell lines (ML-1, -2, and -3): origin of the cells.

Cytogenetic studies were performed on ML cell lines (ML-1, -2, and -3), as well as on the leukemic cells of a patient from whom the ML cells were derived. The ML-1 cell line showed numerical and structural cytogenetic changes, i.e., -Y, 1p-, 6q-, 11q-, +12, +13q+, 14q-, and 17q-. The ML-2 cell line had two copies of the 13q+, whereas the ML-3 cells contained three clones, i.e., 47,X,-Y,1p-,6q-,...
