Intracavernous chondrosarcoma associated with Ollier's disease.

چکیده
Multiple enchondromatosis (Oilier's disease)' is a rare, non-hereditary condition of unknown aetiology in which cartilaginous masses are found in bones. We report a patient with Oilier's disease who presented with a parasellar syndrome due to a chondrosarcoma in the cavernous sinus. The association of Ollier's disease and intracranial cartilaginous tumours (chondrosarcoma or chondroma) is recognised but very rare.

Malignant change and multiple metastases in Ollier's disease.
An example of chondrosarcoma developing in a patient with Ollier's disease is described. Necropsy showed an unusual pattern of multiple metastases including several within the cranial cavity.
متن کاملKnee chondrosarcoma secondary to Ollier's disease: a report of one case with twelve-year follow-up
Management of low-grade chondrosarcomas secondary to Ollier's disease is generally radical. We report here a case of conservative treatment of a knee tumor with reconstruction of the lower femoral extremity with a hinged total knee prosthesis, cemented and coupled with a massive femoral allograft, with a twelve-year follow-up.
متن کامل[Multiple enchondromatosis: Ollier's disease].
In contrast to solitary enchondroma, patients with multiple enchondromatosis of bone (Ollier's disease) get affected in childhood by bone swelling and growth retardation. In adults, the main problem is the risk of malign transformation up to 40%.Pain, increasing local tumor and thinning of the corticalis are the typical clinical and radiological signs of transformation to a low grade chondrosarc...
متن کاملMaffucci's syndrome complicated by intracranial chondrosarcoma: two new illustrative cases.
Maffucci's syndrome is a rare congenital condition, sometimes misdiagnosed as Ollier's disease, characterized by multiple enchondromas combined with hemangiomas and phlebectasia. Coexisting primary malignancies have been described sporadically. We report two cases of Maffucci's syndrome associated with cranial base chondrosarcoma, emphasizing pathophysiological features and the challenging mana...
متن کاملA rare cause of visual loss in AIDS patients: central retinal vein occlusion.
Comment The association of intracranial cartilaginous tumour and Ollier's disease is rare and there are only a handful of similar cases published. Chondromas and chondrosarcomas usually arise from the skull base and are located in the middle cranial fossa. Sarwar2 reported a patient with Ollier's disease presenting with diplopia and impaired vision due to chondroma arising from the sphenoid. Ho...
