چکیده
Geometric relations in an irregular D polyhedron or tetrahedral mesh are often di cult to comprehend even for relatively few vertices A technique for illustrating such meshes which aids this comprehension is described in terms of several independent components i e edge representation viewpoint and perspective projection and light ing These images are suitable for embedding in dynamic displays or in publications Heuristics for the e ective use of these components are discussed and the technique is demonstrated on three small con gurations from the recent literature

Pressure-Velocity Coupled Finite Volume Solution of Steady Incompressible Invscid Flow Using Artificial Compressibility Technique
Application of the computer simulation for solving the incompressible flow problems motivates developing efficient and accurate numerical models. The set of Inviscid Incompressible Euler equations can be applied for wide range of engineering applications. For the steady state problems, the equation of continuity can be simultaneously solved with the equations of motion in a coupled manner using...
متن کاملPre-integrated Flow Illustration for Tetrahedral Meshes
Previous work has demonstrated the clarity and usefulness of illustrative techniques for visualizing flow data. However, previous systems were limited to applying these techniques to uniform grids. Since unstructured grids have emerged as a common basis for computing flow simulations, we present a method to apply and extend the flow illustration approach to tetrahedral meshes using pre-integrat...
متن کاملA Unified Multigrid Solver for the Navier-stokes Equations on Mixed Element Meshes
A uni ed multigrid solution technique is presented for solving the Euler and Reynoldsaveraged Navier-Stokes equations on unstructured meshes using mixed elements consisting of triangles and quadrilaterals in two dimensions, and of hexahedra, pyramids, prisms and tetrahedra in three dimensions. While the use of mixed elements is by no means a novel idea, the contribution of the paper lies in the...
متن کاملRevisiting the Least-squares Procedure for Gradient Reconstruction on Unstructured Meshes
The accuracy of the least-squares technique for gradient reconstruction on unstructured meshes is examined. While least-squares techniques produce accurate results on arbitrary isotropic unstructured meshes, serious di culties exist for highly stretched meshes in the presence of surface curvature. In these situations, gradients are typically under-estimated by up to an order of magnitude. For v...
