چکیده

Summary: GeneSupport implements a genome-scale algorithm: Maximum Gene-Support Tree to estimate species tree from gene trees based on multilocus sequences. It provides a new option for multiple genes to infer species tree. It is incorporated into popular phylogentic program: PHYLIP package with the same usage and user interface. It is suitable for phylogenetic methods such as maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood, Baysian and neighbourjoining, which is used to reconstruct single gene trees firstly with a variety of phylogenetic inference programs.

Study on phylogenetic status of Hari barbel Luciobarbus conocephalus (Kessler, 1872) from Hari river using Cytb gene

Recently, Luciobarbus conocephalus from the Hari River was reported for the first time, but there is doubt about the validity of this species between authors, because some of them placed it as a subspecies or synonym of L. capito. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the status of phylogeny and the validity of this species. For this purpose, specimens captured from Hari Riv...

Phylogenetic relationships of the commercial marine shrimp family Penaeidae from Persian Gulf

Phylogenetic relationships among all described species (total of 5 taxa) of the shrimp genus Penaeus, were examined with nucleotide sequence data from portions of mitochondrial gene and cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI). There are twelve commercial shrimp in the Iranian coastal waters. The reconstruction of the evolution phylogeny of these species is crucial in revealing stock identity that ca...

Inconsistency of phylogenetic estimates from concatenated data under coalescence.

Although multiple gene sequences are becoming increasingly available for molecular phylogenetic inference, the analysis of such data has largely relied on inference methods designed for single genes. One of the common approaches to analyzing data from multiple genes is concatenation of the individual gene data to form a single supergene to which traditional phylogenetic inference procedures - e...

Lecture 16 Phylogeny , II : Compatibility and Maximum Likelihood — DRAFT

There are many ways to formalize the problem of inferring a phylogeny on a set of species. Previously, we saw inference procedures which try to find the most parsimonious set of changes that could give rise to observed differences between species. In these notes, we describe three more optimality criteria for the phylogeny problem: compatibility, distance measures, and maximum likelihood. For t...
