چکیده

Multiple repeat false targets (RFTs), created by the digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) system of jammer, are widely used in practical to effectively exhaust the limited tracking and discrimination resource of defense radar. In this paper, common characteristic of radar polarization echoes of multiple RFTs is used for target recognition. Based on the echoes from two receiving polarization channels, the instantaneous polarization radio (IPR) is defined and its variance is derived by employing Taylor series expansion. A detection-discrimination method is designed based on probability grids. By using the data from microwave anechoic chamber, the detection threshold of the method is confirmed. Theoretical analysis and simulations indicate that the method is valid and feasible. Furthermore, the estimation performance of IPRs of RFTs due to the influence of signal noise ratio (SNR) is also covered.

In this paper, we consider received radar echoes data of moving ground targets and represent the corresponding signals in the time-frequency domain using spectrograms. The objective of the paper is to identify and validate the intrinsic spectrogram-based features characterizing the different classes of targets, and subsequently extract salient features for classification. We will show examples ...

Polarimetric Detection of Targets in Inhomogeneous Clutter

Polarization diversity in radar is useful to detect targets, particularly when Doppler discrimination is not possible. We introduce a new polarimetric radar model that includes the realistic dependence of the clutter reflections on the transmitted signal. We then develop a statistical polarimetric detection test, robust to heavy inhomogeneous clutter. We prove that the detector’s false-alarm ra...

A Novel Method for Detecting Targets on Inactive Radars Using an Adaptive Processing on the Ambiguity Function (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper a novel method for detecting targets in inactive radars is presented. In this method, the time history of cellsof the ambiguity function is used for detection. For this purpose, the cell history is considered as a random field. Then, using adaptive filter, the string time of the desired target are separated from the string time of noise and clusters in the environment. In order to...
