Measurement of Plasma Resistivity in the Edge of IR - T 1 Tokamak

چکیده
The Plasma resistivity has been measured in the edge plasma of IR-T1 tokamak. To achive the edge plasma properties ( Te and ne ) using I-V characteristics of movable single langmuir probe. Density and temperature of electron, respectively ne and Te, are measured simultaneously for calculating the radial profile of parallel and vertical resistivity. As temperature of plasma raised, resistivity drops rapidly so Reduction of resistivity with increasing temperature could leads to prolonging of the duration of the plasma discharge. In this paper we have used plasma electron cyclotron emissions at the second harmonic frequency of extraordinary mode to determine the temperature profile of the plasma produced in IR-T1 Tokamak. The emissions obtained at different frequencies by a 5-channel heterodyne receiver, have been analyzed to determine the spatial variation of the electron temperature on the plasma cross section. The r...
متن کاملAsymptotic-preserving methods for an anisotropic model of electrical potential in a tokamak
A 2D nonlinear model for the electrical potential in the edge plasma in a tokamak generates a stiff problem due to the low resistivity in the direction parallel to the magnetic field lines. An asymptotic-preserving method based on a micromacro decomposition is studied in order to have a well-posed problem, even when the parallel resistivity goes to 0. Numerical tests with a finite difference sc...

Recent experiments on the spherical tokamak have discovered the conditions to create a powerful plasma and ensure easy shaping and amplification of stability, high bootstrap current and confinement energy. The spherical tours (ST) fusion energy development path is complementary to the tokamak burning plasma experiment such as NSTX and higher toroidal beta regimes and improves the design of a po...

Propagating filaments of enhanced plasma density, or blobs, observed in 3D numerical simulations of a diverted, neutral-fueled tokamak are studied. Fluctuations of vorticity, electrical potential phi, temperature Te, and current density J parallel associated with the blobs have a dipole structure perpendicular to the magnetic field and propagate radially with large E x B drift velocities (>1 km...
