چکیده

Investigations are presented on the reconstruction of the sound field close to the surface of arbitrarily shaped sound sources. The Nearfield Acoustical Holography (NAH) in spherical coordinates can be used for the reconstruction of sound field parameters. The applicability of the reconstruction method, however, is limited by the validity restrictions of the Rayleigh hypothesis, which are determined by a minimal sphere. Depending on the shape of the source the NAH-solution becomes non convergent if the validity conditions are violated. To overcome the limitations an algorithm is proposed for extracting local information from the non convergent NAH-solution. For the assessment of the results an appropriate virtual test rig is developed employing the Kirchhoff-Helmholtz-Integral-Theorem.

Approximate model of sound source in consideration of evanescent waves in far-field acoustical holography

Far-field acoustical holography methods reconstruct the sound fields mainly based on the simple point source model because of the loss of abundant information compared with near-field acoustical holography (NAH). It brings problems that the reconstructed sound sources are different from the actual measured sound sources especially because of the evanescent waves which attenuate rapidly in the n...

Fourier Acoustics: Uncovering the origins of sound

It was 25 years ago when the first experiment in nearfield acoustical holography (NAH) took place. Since the first paper appeared in 1980, published in Phys Rev Lett by Williams and Maynard[1], there has been a world wide explosion of research and development, with practical applications finding its way into may varied noise and vibration problems in both military and industry. An overview of t...

Acoustic Model Identification Using Inverse Model

Sound measured at various points around the environment can be evaluated by a series of multi-pole sources and their acoustic strength can be acquired. In this numerical study, a method, called the inverse method, was examined to achieve this goal. A variety of arrangements of different sources were considered and the acoustic strength of these sources was acquired. Through the application of t...

Sound Source Reconstruction Using Inverse BEM

Sound source reconstruction based on boundary element modelling (BEM) and inverse methods has become a powerful tool for noise source identification involving arbitrarily shaped sources. Since the numerical treatment results in a linear discrete ill-posed problem, regularisation must be applied to avoid unstable solutions dominated by noise and errors in the acoustic field data. The key to a us...

A Robust Extrapolation Method for Curtailed Aperture Reconstruction in Acoustic Imaging

Acoustic Imaging based sound localization using microphone array is a challenging task in digital-signal processing. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) based near-field acoustical holography (NAH) is an important acoustical technique for sound source localization and provide an efficient solution to the ill-posed problem. However, in practice, due to the usage of small curtailed aperture and its ...
