Primary anetoderma and antiphospholipid antibodies

چکیده
Anetoderma is an elastolytic skin process clinically characterized by circumscribed rounded areas of loose skin; and histologically, by loss of elastic dermal fi bers. Two forms are traditionally distinguished, primary and secondary. Th e latter refers to an abnormal repair mechanism of preexisting skin lesions, where acne and varicella are the most frequent causes. In contrast, in the primary form lesions appear de novo on the previously healthy skin, and they have been related to a variety of pathologies, mainly autoimmune diseases.1 Due to its low frequency, only isolated reports and series with few cases have been published. However, recently the strong link existing between dermatosis and the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies was established. Firstly, we shall present the two cases we had the opportunity to study, and then we shall make some considerations on the subject matter.

Anetoderma: Is It a Sign of Autoimmunity?
Anetoderma is a rare elastolytic disorder characterized by circumscribed areas of flaccid skin due to the loss of elastic tissue in the dermis. Primary anetoderma is frequently observed in patients with autoimmune diseases or abnormalities especially with antiphospholipid antibodies with or without antiphospholipid syndrome. In this case report we discuss a patient with primary anetoderma with ...

BACKGROUND Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma manifested by anetoderma has been reported in 7 cases. In all, the secondary anetoderma developed in lesions of marginal-zone lymphoma or posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder resembling marginal-zone lymphoma. The mechanisms underlying the destruction of elastic tissue in anetoderma are unclear. However, there is growing evidence linking prima...

INTRODUCTION Anetoderma is an elastolytic skindisorder that has been associated with the presenceof antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL). Patients withantiphospholipid antibody-positive anetoderma havebeen reported to develop symptoms of Graves disease, antiphospholipid syndrome, and other autoimmuneconditions. The temporal relationship, however, between anetoderma onset and the emergence ofaPL rema...

Anetoderma is a rare cutaneous disease characterized by a loss of normal elastic tissue that is presented clinically as localized areas of wrinkled or flaccid skin. This form may be associated with several immunological abnormalities, most notably lupus erythematosus and antiphospholipid antibodies with or without clinical manifestations of the antiphospholipid syndrome. A retrospective study w...
