A study about posterior pituitary hormone inactivation of toxemic serum of late pregnancy.

چکیده
Discussions of causative relation between toxemias of late pregnancy and posterior pituitary hormone (PPH) are already time-honored, and Kustner,l) Anselmino-Hoffmann,2) and others have made great contribu tions in these parts. In 1933, Kustner1) had performed an anterior hysterotomy on a typical pre-eclampsia and at that time a slow intravenous injection of Orasthin not only gave her rise to eclamptic fits, but also after the operation her blood pressure had increased about 20mm. From this case, and based on his melanophore reaction, Kustner concluded that in the serum of eclampsia there had been no factor to inactivate PPH, which every normal

The steroids of the adrenal cortex assist in, and are necessary for, normal excretion of water and electrolyte (1). In general, these steroids tend to cause water excretion and salt retention, the relative amounts of these responses being dependent upon the structure of the steroid. The hormones of the posterior pituitary gland, on the other hand, cause water retention and, usually, sodium and ...

Hyperketonemia and hypoglycemia are more common obvious biochemical features of pregnancy toxemia as well as liver and kidney may be involved in the pathogenesis of toxemia. Fifteen pregnant goats with twins (3-4 years, 20-27 kg body weight and 120-130 days of gestation) were classified into two groups, control one consists of six goats and experimental group consists of nine goats for inductio...

Introduction: The purpose and our novelty of the current study were to evaluate the HPA function in adult survivors of primary non-pituitary brain tumors and its association with treatment-related factors such as received dose to the organs at risk, age at irradiation, surgery, and adjuvant chemotherapy in patients treated with RT for brain tumors. Moreover, it aimed to achie...
متن کاملPituitary Adrenocorticotropic Hormone Secretion in Humans
To clarify the physiological role of placental corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), we measured plasma CRH, ACTH, and cortisol throughout pregnancy. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) CRH levels and ACTH responsiveness to synthetic CRH were also quantified in pregnant and nonpregnant women. Maternal plasma CRH levels, which increased progressively during pregnancy, correlated well with both ACTH and c...

Inappropriate TSH hypersecretion was diagnosed in a 34 years old woman. Earlier she had been treated by ablative therapy for hyperthyroidism. The present diagnosis was based on elevated basal serum TSH levels despite elevated serum free thyroid hormone level. Her TSH responses to TRH (peak value 240 mu/I) was high. Her albumin and prealbumin levels were normal. The serum TBG level, alpha subuni...
