چکیده

Consider the Chern-Simons topological quantum field theory with gauge group SU2 and level k. Given a knot in the 3-sphere, this theory associates to the knot exterior an element in a vector space. We call this vector the knot state and study its asymptotic properties when the level is large. The latter vector space being isomorphic to the geometric quantization of the SU2-character variety of the peripheral torus, the knot state may be viewed as a section defined over this character variety. We first conjecture that the knot state concentrates in the large level limit to the character variety of the knot. This statement may be viewed as a real and smooth version of the AJ conjecture. Our second conjecture says that the knot state in the neighborhood of abelian representations is a Lagrangian state. Using microlocal techniques, we prove these conjectures for the figure eight and torus knots. The proof is based on q-difference relations for the colored Jones polynomial. We also provide a new proof for the asymptotics of the Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariant of the lens spaces and a derivation of the Melvin-Morton-Rozansky theorem from the two conjectures.

Knot state asymptotics II Witten conjecture and irreducible representations

This article pursues the study of the knot state asymptotics in the large level limit initiated in [CM11]. As a main result, we prove the Witten asymptotic expansion conjecture for the Dehn fillings of the figure eight knot. The state of a knot is defined in the realm of Chern-Simons topological quantum field theory as a holomorphic section on the SU2character manifold of the peripheral torus. ...

On the AJ conjecture for cables of the figure eight knot

The AJ conjecture relates the A-polynomial and the colored Jones polynomial of a knot in the 3-sphere. It has been verified for some classes of knots, including all torus knots, most double twist knots, (−2, 3, 6n ± 1)-pretzel knots, and most cabled knots over torus knots. In this paper we study the AJ conjecture for (r, 2)-cables of a knot, where r is an odd integer. In particular, we show tha...

Irreducibility of q-difference operators and the knot 7_4

Our goal is to compute the minimal-order recurrence of the colored Jones polynomial of the 74 knot, as well as for the first four double twist knots. As a corollary, we verify the AJ Conjecture for the simplest knot 74 with reducible non-abelian SL(2,C) character variety. To achieve our goal, we use symbolic summation techniques of Zeilberger’s holonomic systems approach and an irreducibility c...

Asymptotics of the Quantum Invariants for Surgeries on the Figure 8 Knot

We investigate the Reshetikhin–Turaev invariants associated to SU(2) for the 3manifolds M obtained by doing any rational surgery along the figure 8 knot. In particular, we express these invariants in terms of certain complex double contour integrals. These integral formulae allow us to propose a formula for the leading asymptotics of the invariants in the limit of large quantum level. We analyz...
