Multicast control of mobile measurement systems

چکیده
This paper proposes MA -Multicast Mobile Measurement Architecturea software architecture for the development of flexible distributed measurement systems. MA centres at the large level on nowadays Internet technologies such as multicast and mobile computing and at the small level on a Java and Actor-based Framework. MA allows the building of open, portable and dynamically re-configurable systems. The paper describes the architecture and exemplifies it by some examples.

An Overview of Group Key Management Issues in IEEE 802.16e Networks
The computer industry has defined the IEEE 802.16 family of standards that will enable mobile devices to access a broadband network as an alternative to digital subscriber line technology. As the mobile devices join and leave a network, security measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the network against unauthorized usage by encryption and group key management. IEEE 802.16e uses Multica...
متن کاملOn Demand Multicast Routing Protocol for Adaptive video and performance Measurement
As ad-hoc networks have emerged, many multicast routing protocols for mobile ad-hoc network have been proposed based on different design principles. However, none of the proposed multicast protocols in a real ad-hoc network has features that allow efficient closed-loop control. The latter is especially important in multicast/end-to-end adaptive video applications. These applications normally su...
متن کاملA study of forward error correction for mobile multicast
3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has standardized the use of forward error correction (FEC) for the provision of reliable data transmission in the mobile multicast framework. This error control method inevitably adds a constant overhead in the transmitted data. However, it is so simple as to meet a prime objective for mobile multicast services; that is scalability to applications with ...
متن کاملMobile and Multicast IP Services in PACS: System Architecture, Prototype, and Performance
Traditionally, wireless cellular communication systems have been engineered for voice. With the explosive growth of Internet applications and users, there is an increasing demand on providing Internet services to mobile users based on the voice-oriented cellular networks. However, Internet services add a set of radically diierent requirements on to the cellular wireless networks, because the na...
متن کاملA Causal Multicast Protocol for Mobile Distributed Systems
Causal message ordering in the context of group communication ensures that all the message receivers observe consistent ordering of events affecting a group as a whole. This paper presents a scalable causal multicast protocol for mobile distributed computing systems. In our protocol, only a part of the mobility agents in the system is involved in group computations and the resulting size of con...
