چکیده

Abstract Since eroded sediments are produced from different sources distributed throughout a basin, sediment delivery processes at basin scale have to be modelled by a spatially distributed approach. In this paper a new theoretically based relationship is proposed for evaluating the sediment delivery ratio, SDR{, of each morphological unit, i, into which a basin is divided. Then, using the sediment balance equation written for the basin outlet, a relationship between the basin sediment delivery ratio, SDRW and the SDRt is deduced. This relationship is shown to be independent of the soil erosion model used. Finally, a morphological criterion for estimating a coefficient, /3, is proposed.

Modelling sediment delivery ratio over the Murray Darling Basin

This paper presents a scientific and technical description of the modelling framework and the main results of modelling the longterm average sediment delivery at hillslope to medium-scale catchments over the entire Murray Darling Basin (MDB). A theoretical development that relates long-term averaged sediment delivery to the statistics of rainfall and catchment parameters is presented. The deriv...

Overview of Geology , Hydrology , Geomorphology , and Sediment Budget of the Deschutes River Basin , Oregon Jim

Within the Deschutes River basin of central Oregon, the geology, hydrology, and physiography influence geomoqhic and ecologic processes at a variety of temporal and spatial scales. Hydrologic and physiographic characteristics of the basin are related to underlying geologic materials. In the southwestern part of the basin, Quaternary volcanism and tectonism has created basin fills and covered an...

Estimation of sedimentation and erosion using MPSIAC, FSM and direct measurement methods in Gabric watershed, South-eastern of Iran

Extended abstract 1- Introduction      Soil erosion, as one of the most important environmental problems in the world, has a devastating effect on all life, natural resources and it's under human management. Considering that one of the important goals in the management of drainage of basins such as Gabric basin is preventing soil erosion, and also one of the important factors when designing d...

Testing a distributed approach for modelling sediment delivery

Both the theoretical basis of a distributed approach to sediment delivery and its agreement with basin sediment yield measurements are tested. At first, by using morphological data of five Apulian and four Calabrian basins, the applicability of a theoretically-based relationship for evaluating the sediment delivery ratio of each morphological unit SDRh into which a basin is divided, is verified...
