چکیده
This paper proposes financial time-series forecasting using a feature selection method based on the non-overlap area distribution measurement method supported in a neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions (NEWFM) and the TakagiSugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The non-overlap area distribution measurement method selects the minimum number of features with the highest performance by removing the worst features one by one. This paper uses CPPn,m (current price position on day n: percentage of the difference between the price on day n and the moving average of the past m days’ prices from day n-1) as a technical indicator. The performance result improves from 58.35% to 58.86% when CPPn,5 is added to a minimum number of features that are selected by the non-overlap area distribution measurement method. The T-S fuzzy model can provide the weighted average defuzzification method to represent a trend line such as a financial time series. This paper generally demonstrates fluctuations similar to a financial time series of the daily KOSPI’s trend line by the defuzzification method.

متن کاملA New High-order Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model Based on Deformed Linear Models
Amongst possible choices for identifying complicated processes for prediction, simulation, and approximation applications, high-order Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models are fitting tools. Although they can construct models with rather high complexity, they are not as interpretable as first-order TS fuzzy models. In this paper, we first propose to use Deformed Linear Models (DLMs) in consequence pa...
متن کاملA TS Fuzzy Model Derived from a Typical Multi-Layer Perceptron
In this paper, we introduce a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model which is derived from a typical Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network (MLP NN). At first, it is shown that the considered MLP NN can be interpreted as a variety of TS fuzzy model. It is discussed that the utilized Membership Function (MF) in such TS fuzzy model, despite its flexible structure, has some major restrictions. After modify...

Global positioning system (GPS) measurements provide accurate and continuous 3-dimensional position, velocity and time data anywhere on or above the surface of the earth, anytime, and in all weather conditions. However, the predominant ranging error source for GPS signals is an ionospheric error. The ionosphere is the region of the atmosphere from about 60 km to more than 1500 km above the eart...

Improving time series forecastingaccuracy is an important yet often difficult task. Both theoretical and empirical findings haveindicated that integration of several models is an effectiveway to improve predictive performance, especiallywhen the models in combination are quite different. In this paper,a model of the hybrid artificial neural networks andfuzzy model is proposed for time series for...
