N/v-limit for Stochastic Dynamics in Continuous Particle Systems

We provide an N/V -limit for the infinite particle, infinite volume stochastic dynamics associated with Gibbs states in continuous particle systems on R, d ≥ 1. Starting point is an N-particle stochastic dynamic with singular interaction and reflecting boundary condition in a subset Λ ⊂ R with finite volume (Lebesgue measure) V = |Λ| < ∞. The aim is to approximate the infinite particle, infinite volume stochastic dynamic by the above N-particle dynamic in Λ as N → ∞ and V → ∞ such that N/V → ρ, where ρ is the particle density. First we derive an improved Ruelle bound for the canonical correlation functions under an appropriate relation between N and V . Then tightness is shown by using the Lyons–Zheng decomposition. The equilibrium measures of the accumulation points are identified as infinite volume canonical Gibbs measures by an integration by parts formula and the accumulation points themselves are identified as infinite particle, infinite volume stochastic dynamics via the associated martingale problem. Assuming a property closely related to Markov uniqueness and weaker than essential self-adjointness, via Mosco convergence techniques we can identify the accumulation points as Markov processes and show uniqueness. I.e., all accumulation corresponding to one invariant canonical Gibbs measure coincide. The proofs work for general repulsive interaction potentials φ of Ruelle type and all temperatures, densities, and dimensions d ≥ 1, respectively. φ may have a nontrivial negative part and infinite range as e.g. the Lennard–Jones potential. Additionally, our result provides as a by-product an approximation of grand canonical Gibbs measures by finite volume canonical Gibbs measures with empty boundary condition.

The Effects of Different SDE Calculus on Dynamics of Nano-Aerosols Motion in Two Phase Flow Systems
Langevin equation for a nano-particle suspended in a laminar fluid flow was analytically studied. The Brownian motion generated from molecular bombardment was taken as a Wiener stochastic process and approximated by a Gaussian white noise. Euler-Maruyama method was used to solve the Langevin equation numerically. The accuracy of Brownian simulation was checked by performing a series of simulati...

Principal references for the main body of the course are lecture notes [6, 1] and monographs [2, 5]. First several weeks, however, will be devoted to a preliminary material including: (1) Stochastic calculus of continuous time Markov chains [4]. (2) Elements of interacting particle systems [3]. I shall assume some elementary knowledge of Probability theory, specifically basic fact about marting...
متن کاملLimit Theorems for Continuous Time Random Walks with Slowly Varying Waiting Times
Continuous time random walks incorporate a random waiting time between random jumps. They are used in physics to model particle motion. When the time between particle jumps has a slowly varying probability tail, the resulting plume disperses at a slowly varying rate. The limiting stochastic process is useful for modeling ultraslow diffusion in physics.

A stochastic model for nondemolition continuous measurement in a quantum system is given. It is shown that the posterior dynamics, including a continuous collapse of the wave function, is described by a nonlinear stochastic wave equation. For a particle in an electromagnetic field it reduces the Schrödinger equation with extra imaginary stochastic potentials. According to the statistical interp...
متن کاملA stochastic evolution equation arising from the fluctuation of a class of interacting particle systems
In an earlier paper, we studied the approximation of solutions V (t) to a class of SPDEs by the empirical measure V n(t) of a system of n interacting diffusions. In the present paper, we consider a central limit type problem, showing that √ n(V n − V ) converges weakly, in the dual of a nuclear space, to the unique solution of a stochastic evolution equation. Analogous results in which the diff...
