چکیده
Material and methods We studied clinical outcomes of Cheneau’s brace treatment 0f 147 scoliotic patients (age 10 to 18). Patients were subdivided in 2 groups. Group A was made up by 79 patients whose brace treatment was combined with considerable motion activity based on our program. Rehabilitation program included aerobics, dancing (in brace), swimming, doing special exercise (in brace and without) individually or with rehabilitation specialists. Group B – 76 patients whose brace treatment was not followed by high motion activity. Psychological, psychosomatic and psycho physiological symptoms as well as questionnaires outcomes have been analyzed. The observation term is 1 year.

Development and preliminary validation of Brace Questionnaire (BrQ): a new instrument for measuring quality of life of brace treated scoliotics
BACKGROUND The quality of life among children with idiopathic scoliosis during their adolescence has been reported to be affected by the brace itself. However, a controversy exists whether brace treated scoliotics experience a poor quality of life, thus there is a need for the development of a brace-oriented instrument, as the now-existing questionnaires that are commonly used, such as the SRS ...
متن کاملCurve progression 25 years after bracing for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: long term comparative results between two matched groups of 18 versus 23 hours daily bracing
BACKGROUND Scoliotic curves do not necessarily stop progressing at skeletal maturity. The factors that influence curve behavior following bracing are not fully determined. Our objectives were to evaluate the loss of the scoliotic curve correction in a cohort of patients treated with bracing during adolescence and to compare the outcomes of 18 versus 23 h of bracing at a mean of 25 years post br...

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effect of Boston brace on trunk muscles length as well as lower limbs and trunk range of motion in patients with idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: Five patients with idiopathic scoliosis with C shape curve and mean (SD) age, height, and weight of respectively 12.61(1.16) years, 1.53(0.08) m, and 35.6(6.1) kg participated in this study. Spatiotemporal para...

Objective: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear is one of the most common knee injuries. Kinesthesia after ACL tear is impaired. In this study, using hybrid generalized estimation equations (GEE) can be efficient method in analyzing correlated data, we try to evaluate the effects of reconstruction surgery and functional brace with controlled confounding factors in improving the patients’ kines...
متن کاملCurve progression after long-term brace treatment in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: comparative results between over and under 30 Cobb degrees - SOSORT 2017 award winner
Background The factors influencing curve behavior following bracing are incompletely understood and there is no agreement if scoliotic curves stop progressing with skeletal maturity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the loss of the scoliotic curve correction in patients treated with bracing during adolescence and to compare patient outcomes of under and over 30 Cobb degrees, 10 years after...
