Impact of Tunnel Geometry and its Dimensions on Path Loss at UHF Frequency Band

چکیده
The present paper analyzes radio signal propagation in long tunnels with different cross sectional size and shape at various signal carrier frequencies, transmitter/receiver positions and material properties applying computer simulations. The influences of different parameters were investigated and results were compared to the empirical four-slope path loss model for long tunnels. It was shown that the size of the tunnel cross-sectional area and signal frequency have considerable impact on signal attenuation along the tunnel while the material properties influence is nearly negligible. Tunnel shape and transverse transmitter/and receiver positions can be neglected. The stated findings confirm validity of the four-slope model which takes into account signal frequency, tunnel dimensions and material properties. Abstract: In this paper, a novel tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) is introduced, thatdue to its superior gate controllability, can be considered as a promising candidate forthe conventional TFET. The proposed electrically doped heterojunction TFET(EDHJTFET) has a 3D core-shell nanotube structure with external and internal gatessurrounding the channel that employs el...
متن کاملPath Loss Modeling for Near-ground Vhf Radio-wave Propagation through Forests with Tree-canopy Reflection Effect
This paper presents a new methodology to model the nearground short-range propagation loss in forested areas at the VHF and the UHF band. The path loss modeling is performed by an integration of the foliage induced effect and the effect from the radiowave reflection/reflections. The analysis shows that the reflection from the dense tree canopy is important for short-range propagation at the VHF...

The paper deals with the design of passive broadband tag antenna for Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) band. The antenna is intended for both near and far fields Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. The meander dipole tag antenna geometry modification is designed for frequency bandwidth increasing. The measured bandwidth of the proposed broadband tag antenna is more than 140 MHz (820–96...
متن کاملCompact Dual Band Tag Antenna Design for Radio Frequency Identification (rfid) Application
The increasing need for automatic identification and object tracking in supply chains has led to the development of radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. High frequency (HF) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) bands are frequently used because of their advantages over other bands. Although many HF and UHF band tags exist, some are unsuitable to handle the hostile environment of a supply cha...
متن کاملA High-Gain Passive UHF-RFID Tag with Increased Read Range
In this work, a passive ultra-high frequency radio-frequency identification UHF-RFID tag based on a 1.25 wavelengths thin dipole antenna is presented for the first time. The length of the antenna is properly chosen in order to maximize the tag read range, while maintaining a reasonable tag size and radiation pattern. The antenna is matched to the RFID chip by means of a very simple matching net...
