Inversion of the PROSAIL model to estimate leaf area index of maize, potato, and sunflower fields from unmanned aerial vehicle hyperspectral data

چکیده
Leaf area index (LAI) is a key variable for modeling energy and mass exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere. Inversion of physically based radiative transfer models is the most established technique for estimating LAI from remotely sensed data. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of the PROSAIL model for LAI estimation of three typical row crops (maize, potato, and sunflower) from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) hyperspectral data. LAI was estimated using a look-up table (LUT) based on the inversion of the PROSAIL model. The estimated LAI was evaluated against in situ LAI measurements.

متن کاملModels for Estimating Different Crops Leaf Area Index Using Hyperspectral Data
As a parameter of researching plant groups and cluster analysis, leaf area index (LAI) is closely related to a variety of biological processes, such as transpiration, photosynthesis and respiration. Now LAI has become a key parameter in researching the eco-system. There are two ways to get the LAI data, one is from the ground-based measurement, the other way is based on retrieval from remote se...

Leaf area index (LAI) is an important indicator of plant growth and yield that can be monitored by remote sensing. Several models were constructed using datasets derived from SRS and STR sampling methods to determine the optimal model for soybean (multiple strains) LAI inversion for the whole crop growth period and a single growth period. Random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), and...
متن کاملAn evaluation of yield in "intercropping of maize and potato"
Abstract To find out how maize and potato can grow and develop in an intercropping system rather than each grown alone in a sole cropping system the following factorial experiment was performend in the frame-work of a randomized complete block three replications in the experimental farm of the faculty of agriculture, Zanjan University in year 2004. Different potato to maize ratios of (1:0), i...
