چکیده
Congenital anomalies of the venous system are a challenge for cardiac catheterization and radiofrequency ablation. This article describes ablation of atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia performed solely through the azygos continuation in a patient with inferior vena cava interruption.

Successful radiofrequency ablation of a right posteroseptal accessory pathway through an anomalous inferior vena cava and azygos continuation in a patient with incomplete situs inversus.
We present a 43-year-old patient with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. In the process of catheter ablation, we found interruption of the inferior vena cava with azygos continuation with incomplete situs inversus. In this patient, we adopted the lower approach via the anomalous inferior vena cava and azygos continuation to achieve stability of radiofrequency catheter for right posterosep...
متن کاملLower or Upper Approach; Catheter Ablation of Supraventricular Arrhythmia in a Patient with Azygos Continuation of Inferior Vena Cava
The catheter ablation of supraventricular arrhythmias is generically performed via using a trans femoral venous approach through the inferior vena cava (IVC). However, this procedure becomes a subtle issue if there is a congenital or an acquired obstruction of the IVC. Here, we report a very particular case of slow pathway ablation for atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia in a patient w...
متن کاملRadiofrequency Catheter Ablation Of Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia Associated With Anomalous Drainage Of Both Superior Vena Cava Into Coronary Sinus
Total upper body drainage via left superior vena cava into coronary sinus (i.e. absent right superior vena cava) is a rare anomaly and distorts the anatomy of coronary sinus and triangle of Koch. Herewith we are reporting the first report of ablation in a patient with superior vena cava draining into coronary sinus totally. This patient with atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia, baseli...

متن کاملSuccessful atrioventricular junction ablation in a patient with situs inversus with dextrocardia and complex venous anatomy
Situs inversus with dextrocardia is an uncommon condition and is present in approximately 0.02% of the general population. Infrahepatic interruption of the inferior vena cava (IVC) is a congenital anomaly found in 1.3%–3.0% of patients with congenital heart disease, and it occurs in 8– 18% of patients with dextrocardia. In this condition, the IVC is interrupted above the renal branches, and sys...
