چکیده

Textile industry is one of the oldest and largest industries of India. Synthetic dyes are coloring agents mainly used in textile industries which generate a huge amount of wastewater in the process of dyeing. It is estimated that these industries discharge around 280,000 tons of dyes worldwide every year into the environment (Tom Sinoy and Anuradha Mohan, 2011). Discharge of these colored effluents into rivers and lakes results into reduced dissolved oxygen concentration, thus creating anoxic condition and lead to the acute toxic effects on the flora and fauna of the ecosystem. In addition to being aesthetically displeasing, the release of colored effluents in water bodies reduces the photosynthesis as it impedes penetration of light in water (Slokar ISSN: 2319-7706 Volume 3 Number 11 (2014) pp. 105-115 http://www.ijcmas.com

Evaluation of Dye Degradation Using Streptomyces pactum Strain JAAS1

The principle aim of this study was to isolate dye degrading actinomycetes from soil, mainly from agricultural farm lands and waste disposal areas, followed by characterization of the obtained isolates and to screen for dye degradation potential. Experiments included collection of soil samples; isolation of actinomycetes by serial dilution and spread plate technique on ISP2 medium, screening fo...

Synthesis and characterization of CdS nanoparticle anchored Silica-Titania mixed Oxide mesoporous particles: Efficient photocatalyst for discoloration of textile effluent

An efficient photocatalyst consisting of CdS nanoparticle dispersed mesoporous silica-titania was prepared using amphiphilic triblock copolymer P123 as template and silica-titania sol–gel precursors. The CdS nanoparticle was incorporated into silica-titania mesoporous nanosturctures by post impregnation method. The synthesized catalyst has been characterized by FTIR, TEM, SEM, and EDAX analysis...

Isolation, Identification and Molecular Characterization by RAPD of Red HE7B Dye Decolourizing Bacteria from Textile Effluents and its Cultivated Soil

The textile industry is one of the industries that generate a high volume of waste water. Strong colour of the textile waste water is the most serious problem of the textile waste effluent. The disposal of these wastes into receiving water causes damage to the environment. With regard to their colour removal by conventional treatment methods lead to severe water pollution, thus developing cost ...

Isolation and characterization of dye degrading bacteria from textile dye effluents

Textile dye industry waste is one of the most serious problems in the environment. The dye wastes are severely deleterious to surface water bodies. The present study was an attempt for the assessment of different physicochemical parameters such as pH, temperature, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Solids (TS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), ...
