Optimal state estimation using randomly delayed measurements without time stamping

چکیده
This paper studies an optimal state estimation (Kalman filtering) problem under the assumption that output measurements are subject to random time delays caused by network transmissions without time stamping. We first propose a random time delay model which mimics many practical digital network systems. We then study the so-called unbiased, uniformly bounded linear state estimators and show that the estimator structure is given based on the average of all received measurements at each time for different maximum time delays. The estimator gains can be derived by solving a set of recursive discrete-time Riccati equations. The estimator is guaranteed to be optimal in the sense that it is unbiased with uniformly bounded estimation error covariance. A simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Multi-Area State Estimation Based on PMU Measurements in Distribution Networks
State estimation in the energy management center of active distribution networks has attracted many attentions. Considering an increase in complexity and real-time management of active distribution networks and knowing the network information at each time instant are necessary. This article presents a two-step multi-area state estimation method in balanced active distribution networks. The prop...

This paper deals with discrete-time stochastic descriptor (singular) systems with instantaneous and multi-time delayed measurements. The estimability condition of the descriptor systems involving delayed measurements is given. Using the measurements reorganization approach, the optimal Kalman lter and corresponding estimate error covariance are derived. Furthermore, an algorithm for the linear...

This paper discusses the least-squares linear filtering and smoothing (fixed-point and fixed-interval) problems of discrete-time signals from observations, perturbed by additive white noise, which can be randomly delayed by one sampling time. It is assumed that the Bernoulli random variables characterizing delay measurements are correlated in consecutive time instants. The marginal distribution...
متن کاملH∞ Estimation of Continuous-Time Systems with Implicit Outputs from Discrete Noisy Time-Delayed Measurements
We address the state estimation of a class of continuous-time systems with implicit outputs, whose measurements arrive at discrete-time instants, are time-delayed, noisy, and may not be complete. The estimation problem is formulated in the deterministic H∞ filtering setting by computing the value of the state that minimizes the induced L2-gain from disturbances and noise to estimation error, wh...

Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are in growing attention in recent power systems because of their paramount abilities in state estimation. PMUs are placed in existing power systems where there are already installed conventional measurements, which can be helpful if they are considered in PMU optimal placement. In this paper, a method is proposed for optimal placement of PMUs incorporating conve...
