چکیده
Label free optical sensing of adenine and thymine oligonucleotides has been achieved at the sub-picomole level using self assembled silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) decorated gold nanotip (AuNT) arrays. The platform consisting of the AuNTs not only aids in efficient bio-immobilization, but also packs AgNPs in a three dimensional high surface area workspace, assisting in surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The use of sub-10 nm AgNPs with optimum inter-particle distance ensures amplification of the chemically specific Raman signals of the adsorbed adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine molecules in SERS experiments. High temporal stability of the Raman signals ensured reliable and repeatable DNA detection even after three weeks of ambient desk-top conservation. This facile architecture, being three dimensional and non-lithographic, differs from conventional SERS platforms.

We demonstrate a convenient and cost-effective chemical approach for fabricating highly ordered Au nanoparticle arrays with sub-10-nm interparticle gaps. Near-field enhancements inside the interparticle gaps create uniform periodic arrays of well-defined "hot spots" exploitable for large surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) enhancements. Nitroexplosives, such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) which is a leading example of nitroaromatic explosives, are causing wide concern. Motivated by the urgent demand for trace analysis of explosives, novel surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy substrates based upon highly ordered Au nanoparticles have been fabricated by a simple droplet evaporation method. It is noteworthy that an ethylhexadecyld...
متن کاملA cytosine-rich DNA decorated gold nanoparticles surface enhanced Raman-scattering platform for sensitive and selective detection of silver ions.
In this work, we developed a label-free, homogeneous surface-enhanced Raman-scattering (SERS) platform for the rapid, simple and sensitive detection of Ag(+) by using the unmodified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). It utilizes the different absorption properties of single-strand DNA (ssDNA) and double-strand DNA (dsDNA) on citrate-coated AuNPs and specific interactions between Ag(+) and cytosine-cyt...

In this study a sensitive electrochemical sensor for the detection of E.coli has been developed using silver nanoparticle (Ag) embedded poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene-ran-phenylene) (CFP) nanocomposite as a conductive platform and DNA hybridization technique. The new polymer was synthesized from 9,9-dioctylfluorene and 1,3-dichlorobenzene and biphenyl through Friedel Crafts alkylation reacti...
متن کاملAlumina coated Ag nanocrystal monolayer as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy platforms for direct spectroscopic detection of water splitting reaction intermediates
A novel Ag-alumina hybrid SERS platform has been designed for the spectroscopic detection of surface reactions in steady state. Single crystalline and faceted silver (Ag) nanoparticles with strong light scattering were prepared in large quantity, which enables their reproducible self-assembly into large scale monolayers of Raman sensor arrays by Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The close packed sen...
