A 64 64 Pixels UWBWireless Temporal-Difference Digital Image Sensor

چکیده
In this paper we present a low power temporal-difference image sensor with wireless communication capability designed specifically for imaging sensor networks. The event-based image sensor features a 64 64 pixel array and can also report standard analog intensity images. An ultra-wide-band radio channel allows to transmit digital temporal difference images wirelessly to a receiver with high rates and reduced power consumption. The sensor can wake up the radio when it detects a specific number of pixels intensity modulation, so that only significant frames are communicated. The prototype chip was implemented using a 2-poly 3-metal AMIS 0.5 m CMOS process. Power consumption is 0.9 mW for the sensor and 15 mW for radio transmission to distance of 4 m with rates of 1.3 Mbps and 160 fps.

متن کاملA 96×64 intelligent digital pixel array with extended binary stochastic arithmetic
A chip architecture that integrates an optical sensor and a pixel level processing element based on binary stochastic arithmetic is proposed. The optical sensor is formed by an array of fully connected pixels, and each pixel contains a sensing element and a Pulse Frequency Modulator (PFM) converting the incident light to bit streams of identical pulses. The processing element is based on binary...

متن کاملA comparative noise analysis and measurement for n-type and p- type pixels with CMS technique
This paper presents a noise analysis and noise measurements of n-type and p-type pixels with correlated multiple sampling (CMS) technique. The output noise power spectral density (PSD) of both pixel types with different CMS noise reduction factors have been simulated and calculated in the spectral domain. For validation, two groups of test pixel have been fabricated with a state-of-the-art n-ty...
متن کاملA 64×64 pixel temporal contrast microbolometer infrared sensor
This paper presents a 64×64 pixel micro-bolometer based temporal contrast IR sensor. The pixels of the sensor independently and asynchronously respond to changes in thermal IR radiation and communicate respective events via arbitrated AER. A 46dB-gain, small-area, ultra low-power, low-mismatch differencing switched-capacitor amplifier has been designed for reading out the bolometer front-end. T...
