Weighted-adaptive motion-compensated frame rate up-conversion

چکیده
In this paper, we propose a frame rate upconversion algorithm using the weighted-adaptive motioncompensated interpolation (WAMCI) that reduces the block artifacts due to the failure of motion estimation and blockbased processing. The proposed method is based on the interpolation scheme by weighted sum of multiple motioncompensated interpolation (MCI) images. Also, in the proposed method, the block artifacts on the block boundaries are reduced by applying a technique similar to the overlapped block motion compensation (OBMC). To reduce the blurring of overlapping processing, the proposed method uses the motion analysis to determine the type of motion and applies the OBMC adaptively. Experimental results indicate good performance of the proposed scheme with significantly reduced block artifacts. متن کاملMotion Compensated Frame Rate Up-Conversion for Low Frame Rate Video
Frame rate up-conversion is useful for low frame rate pictures such as movie. In case of conversion, basic motion compensation causes gap at covered area and uncovered area. To avoid the gap, we propose the motion compensation centered at the position of target. Fully motion compensated interpolation is possible in this method. To realize this, error normalizing by block activity is used for mo...

متن کاملMotion Compensated Frame Rate Up-Conversion Using Modified Adaptive Extended Bilateral Motion Estimation
In this paper, a novel frame rate up conversion (FRUC) using modified adaptive bilateral motion estimation (MAEBME) is proposed. Traditionally, extended bilateral motion estimation (EBME) carries out bilateral motion estimation (BME) twice on the same region, therefore has high complexity. Adaptive extended bilateral motion estimation (AEBME) is proposed to reduce complexity and increase visual...
