Morphological Analysis of Mammograms Using Visualization Pipelines
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of this study is to detect masses in mammograms through pipelining sequences of visualization operators. Such sequences act as morphological filtering operators for identifying objects of interest. This is done using series of rendering operators including edge detection, smoothing, filling small holes, coloring various densities, joining broken boundaries and eliminating small projections.

Computer aided system for segmentation and visualization of microcalcifications in digital mammograms.
Two methods for segmentation and visualization of microcalcifications in digital or digitized mammograms are described. First method is based on modern mathematical morphology, while the second one uses the multifractal approach. In the first method, by using an appropriate combination of some morphological operations, high local contrast enhancement, followed by significant suppression of back...
متن کاملDEX: Increasing the Capability of Scientific Data Analysis Pipelines by Using Efficient Bitmap Indices to Accelerate Scientific Visualization
We describe a new approach to scalable data analysis that enables scientists to manage the explosion in size and complexity of scientific data produced by experiments and simulations. Our approach uses a novel combination of efficient query technology and visualization infrastructure. The combination of bitmap indexing, which is a data management technology that accelerates queries on large sci...

Scientific visualization today usually involves scientists from multiple disciplines trying to tackle complex simulation problems or dealing with large datasets. These scientists are likely geographically distributed, so there is a cost in both finance and time, when they are required to collaborate or meet face-to-face. The complex problems and larger datasets require high performance computin...
متن کاملINVERSE FREQUENCY RESPONSE ANALYSIS FOR PIPELINES LEAK DETECTION USING THE PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION
Inverse Transient Analysis (ITA) is a powerful approach for leak detection of pipelines. When the pipe transient flow is analyzed in frequency domain the ITA is called Inverse Frequency Response Analysis (IFRA). To implement an IFRA for leak detection, a transient state is initiated in the pipe by fast closure of the downstream end valve. Then, the pressure time history at the valve location is...
متن کاملContrast Enhancement of Mammograms for Rapid Detection of Microcalcification Clusters
Introduction Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among women. Early detection of breast cancer is the key to reducing the associated mortality rate. The presence of microcalcifications clusters (MCCs) is one of the earliest signs of breast cancer. Due to poor imaging contrast of mammograms and noise contamination, radiologists may overlook some diagnostic signs, specially t...
