چکیده

were analysed for wet and dry weight, total lipid, total, free and esterified cholesterol, total carboxyl ester, lipid phosphorus and triglyceride. The translocated testes decreased in wet and dry weight (P<0\m=.\001) and total lipid content (P< 0\m=.\001)6 days after surgery. Lipid concentration increased (P<0\m=.\01)in translocated testes, as did concentrations of total cholesterol (P<0\m=.\005)and esterified cholesterol (P<0\m=.\005). Total carboxyl ester (P<\m=.\001)and triglyceride (P<\m=.\01)concentrations also increased in translocated testes, but lipid phosphorus concentration was unchanged. The contralateral scrotal testes increased in total lipid concentration (P<0\m=.\01),esterified cholesterol concentration (P<0\m=.\05),total carboxyl ester (P<0\m=.\001)and triglyceride (P<0\m=.\01)concentrations.

Investigation of the Protective Effects of Amlodipine on the Structure and Function of Testicular Tissue following Experimental Unilateral Cryptorchidism in Rats

Objective- Cryptorchidism, common birth defect of the male genital tract, is one of the causes of fertility problems. The elevation of tissue temperature following of cryptorchidism could induce oxidative stress which influences the cellular and tissue degeneration. Amlodipine is a third-generation of calcium channel blockers which has antioxidant activity. The aim of this stud...

Effect of Vitamin C on Epididymal Sperm Quality in the Rat Experimentally Induced Unilateral Cryptorchidism

Objective- Release of free radicals and oxidants following increased temperature of testis in cryptorchidism, play an important role in the producing testicular damage. The present study investigated the role of vitamin C as an antioxidant in protecting the testis against damage in experimental unilateral cryptorchidism. Design- Experimental study Animals- Forty five male adult Wistar–Albino ...

Effect of Passive Immunization with Specific Anti-FSH on Tes- ticular Lipids and Some Lipogenic Enzymes of Adult Bonnet Monkeys

The effect of anti-follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) on testicular lipid and the specific activity of testicular enzymes of the isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDH), pyruvate/malate dehydrogenase (MDH) and malic enzyme involved in lipogenesis were studied in mature bonnet monkeys, Macaca radiata. Immunization of monkey with anti-FSH for 24 days did not produce any significant changes in the body ...
