چکیده

Typical C-type oncorna virus particles as shown by electron microscopy have been purified from the supernatant of cultured lymphocytes from bovine leukosis. In the purified C-particle fraction a DNA-polymerase activity was detected. Using several synthetic RNAor DNA-homopolymers and 70S Friend virus RNA the template response of this bovine leukosis cell particle DNA polymerase was compared with those of feline leukaemia virus DNA polymerase and DNA polymerase from normal bovine lymphocytes. The DNA polymerase detected in the viral preparation of bovine leukosis is suggested to be an oncorna-virus-specific enzyme.

Detection and Identification of Enzootic Bovine Leukosis (EBL) in Calves in Iran

Enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL) is known as bovine lymphosarcoma and normally affects the old cattle. EBL is caused by bovine leukemia virus (BLV), which is generally spread all around the world. This virus is transmitted via bovine blood products within and between cattle herds. Glycoprotein GP51 in the blood is responsible for cattle immune responses to BLV. This virus has been previously dete...

An Avian Retrovirus Uses Canonical Expression and Processing Mechanisms To Generate Viral MicroRNA

To date, the vast majority of known virus-encoded microRNAs (miRNAs) are derived from polymerase II transcripts encoded by DNA viruses. A recent demonstration that the bovine leukemia virus, a retrovirus, uses RNA polymerase III to directly transcribe the pre-miRNA hairpins to generate viral miRNAs further supports the common notion that the canonical pathway of miRNA biogenesis does not exist ...

Evaluation of diagnostic tests to bovine leukemia virus Avaliação de testes de diagnóstico para o vírus da leucemia bovina

169 Summary: Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) is the causative agent of enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL). After infection with BLV there is no detectable viremia but there is a strong and persistent humoral immune response to structural proteins, essentially the gp51 envelope glycoprotein and the major core protein p24. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with primers used to amplify part of env gene, aga...

Evidence of avian leukosis virus subgroup E and endogenous avian virus in measles and mumps vaccines derived from chicken cells: investigation of transmission to vaccine recipients.

Reverse transcriptase (RT) activity has been detected recently in all chicken cell-derived measles and mumps vaccines. A study of a vaccine manufactured in Europe indicated that the RT is associated with particles containing endogenous avian retrovirus (EAV-0) RNA and originates from the chicken embryonic fibroblasts (CEF) used as a substrate for propagation of the vaccine. We investigated the ...

Bovine Leukemia ProVirus: Evidence of Presence of Part of Gag Gene in Seminal Plasma of Naturally Infected Bulls

Bovine Leukemia ProVirus: Evidence of Presence of Part of Gag Gene in Seminal Plasma of Naturally Infected Bulls It is of critical importance to understand the modalities of BLV presence in semen, especially with regard to artificial insemination (AI). Presence of bovine leukemia provirus was demonstrated in fresh and frozen semen samples by researchers. In this study paired blood and semen sam...
