Dragonfly: a Java-based Iamc Client Prototype
نویسندگان
چکیده
Dragon y is an evolving prototype client for Internet Accessible Mathematical Computation (IAMC). Developed in Java, Dragon y is a protocol-compliant end-user client for making mathematical computing readily available on the Web/Internet. Features of Dragon y include remote help, input editing, command template, history, textbook-style mathematical expression display, as well as interactive display and manipulation of 2-D and 3-D plots of mathematical functions. To represent graphing data, an XML-based MathML extension for graphing is proposed. Dragon y also features an architecture for easy extension. A system demonstration supplements the paper presentation.

Building IAMC: A Layered Approach
Internet Accessible Mathematical Computation (IAMC) is a distributed system to make mathematical computation easily and widely available on the Web/Internet. The architecture and implementation of a framework for building IAMC systems are presented. Protocol layers, allowing any well-de ned encodings for mathematical data, connect the IAMC client (Icl) and server (Isv). An external engine inter...
متن کاملIAMC: Internet Accessible Mathematical Computation
IAMC aims to make mathematical computation services easily accessible on the Internet. The IAMC design leverages existing technologies and makes it possible to access services through TCP/IP, the Web, or email. The overall IAMC architecture, the object-oriented design of a prototype IAMC client and server, as well as the initial speci cation of the Mathematical Computation Protocol which connec...
متن کاملMathematics over the Internet/Web: A Protocol-based Approach
The Internet Accessible Mathematical Computation (IAMC) framework aims to make it easy to supply mathematical computing powers over the Internet/Web. The Mathematical Computation Protocol (MCP), the core part in the IAMC framework, enables developers to create interoperable clients and servers easily and independently. Presented are the specification of MCP, and the design and implementation of...
متن کاملPrototype for a Generic Thin-Client Remote Analysis Environment for CMS
The multi-tiered architecture of the highly-distributed CMS computing systems necessitates a flexible data distribution and analysis environment. We describe a prototype analysis environment which functions efficiently over wide area networks using a server installed at the Caltech/UCSD Tier 2 prototype to analyze CMS data stored at various locations using a thin client. The analysis environmen...
متن کاملDesign of a Distributed Planetary Image Data Archive Based on an ATM Network
On-going and finished planetary and Earth satellite missions have spawned large image data archives distributed all over the world. The searching for specific data suffers from lack of using international query and catalogue standards, slow network connections, no graphical user interface (GUI) and no platform independent client software. The proposed GDSS (Graz Distributed Server System) proje...
