چکیده

We discuss two conditions needed for correct computation of 2νββ nuclear matrix-elements within the realistic shell-model framework. An algorithm in which intermediate states are treated based on Whitehead’s moment method is inspected, by taking examples of the double GT+ transitions 36Ar → 36S, 54Fe → 54Cr and 58Ni → 58Fe. This algorithm yields rapid convergence on the 2νββ matrix-elements, even when neither relevant GT+ nor GT strength distribution is convergent. A significant role of the shell structure is pointed out, which makes the 2νββ matrix-elements highly dominated by the lowlying intermediate states. Experimental information of the low-lying GT strengths is strongly desired. Half-lives of T 2ν 1/2(EC/EC; 36Ar → 36S) = 1.7 × 1029yr, T 2ν 1/2(EC/EC; 54Fe → 54Cr) = 1.5 × 1027yr, T 2ν 1/2(EC/EC; 58Ni → 58Fe) = 6.1 × 1024yr and T 2ν 1/2(β +/EC; 58Ni → 58Fe) = 8.6×1025yr are obtained from the present realistic shell-model calculation of the nuclear matrix-elements.

D ec 1 99 6 Extended Shell Model Calculation for even N = 82 Isotones with a Realistic Effective Interaction

The shell model within the 2s1d0g7/20h11/2 shell is applied to calculate nuclear structure properties of the even Z = 52 − 62, N = 82 isotones. The results are compared with experimental data and with the results of a quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) calculation. The interaction used in these calculations is a realistic two-body G-matrix interaction derived from modern meson-exch...

Gamow shell model and realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions

We present a new and efficient method to obtain a Gamow shell-model basis and matrix elements generated by realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions. We derive a self-consistent Hartree-Fock potential from the renormalized NLO interaction model. The corresponding Gamow one-body eigenstates are generated in a plane wave basis in order to build a Gamow shell-model set of basis states for the closed ...

Sum rules regarding the sign problem in Monte Carlo shell model calculations

The Monte Carlo shell model is a powerful technique for computational nuclear structure. Only a certain class of nuclear interactions, however, such as pairing and quadrupole, are free of the numerical noise known as the sign problem. This paper presents sum rules that relate the sign problem to the J = 0 pairing matrix elements, thus illuminating the extrapolation procedure routinely used for ...

New “USD” Hamiltonians for the sd shell

We derive new Hamiltonians for the sd shell, USDA and USDB, based on a renormalized G matrix with linear combinations of two-body matrix elements adjusted to fit a complete set of data for experimental binding energies and excitation energies for the sd-shell nuclei. These Hamiltonians provide a new level of precision for realistic sd-shell wave functions for applications to nuclear structure a...

A second-order approximation to the Faddeev-Watson-Lovelace treatment of the rearrangement channel is used in a three-body scattering cross sections. In this formalism, the Three-body wave function is expressed by three coupled integral equations, the Faddeev equations, which contian the two-body (off-shell) transition amplitudes, and proved the uniqueness of their solutions. This amplitude c...
