Subjective WellBeing of People with Spinal Cord Injury- Does Leisure Contribute?

This study attempted to identify factors that heiped to explain the subjective well-being of people with spinal cord injury (SCI). A hierarchical multiple regression equation was used to determine the proportion of observed variance in the subjective well-being explained by the independent variables (perceived freedom in leisure, free time boredom, frequency of recreation participation, watching TV, leisure identity, length of injury, age, and income). Frequency of recreation participation (fi = .433), free time boredom ((i = -.241) along with income ((J = .213) and age ((J = -.175) variables explained a total of 53% of variance when predicting subjective well-being.
