چکیده

Please see [1] for background on MV-algebras. We address the question, which MV-algebras have finite automorphism group. The automorphism group of the free MV-algebra on 1 generator is just the group of order 2 (folklore). In contrast, it is known that the automorphism group of the free MV-algebra on 2 generators is not even locally finite [4, 2]. Not much else seems to be known. Let us restrict attention to finitely presented MV-algebras. Recall that an MV-algebra is finitely presented if it is (isomorphic to) a quotient of a free finitely generated MV-algebra by a finitely generated ideal. If M is a finitely generated MV-algebra, the collection μ(M) of its maximal ideals, endowed with the Zariski (or hull-kernel) topology, is a compact Hausdorff space called the maximal spectrum of M . The space μ(M) is homeomorphic to a closed subspace of the real unit n-cube [0, 1], for some nonnegative integer n. We denote by dim μ(M) the (Hausdorff topological) dimension of μ(M). (Please see [3, Chapter 7] for background on dimension theory.)

Bernoulli Automorphisms of Finitely Generated Free Mv-algebras

MV-algebras can be viewed either as the Lindenbaum algebras of Lukasiewicz infinite-valued logic, or as unit intervals [0, u] of lattice-ordered abelian groups in which a strong order unit u > 0 has been fixed. They form an equational class, and the free n-generated free MV-algebra is representable as an algebra of piecewise-linear continuous functions with integer coefficients over the unit n-...

A discrete representation of free MV-algebras

The variety of MV-algebras is the equivalent algebraic semantics of the infinitely-valued Lukasiewicz logic [1], and MVn-algebras are algebraic models of the Lukasiewicz logic with n truth values (2 ≤ n < ω). Recall that an algebra A ∈ V is said to be a free algebra in a variety V, if there exists a set A0 ⊂ A such that A0 generates A and every mapping f from A0 to any algebra B ∈ V can be exte...

Projectivity and unification in the varieties of locally finite monadic MV-algebras

A description of finitely generated free monadic MV -algebras and a characterization of projective monadic MV -algebras in locally finite varieties is given. It is shown that unification type of locally finite varieties is unitary.

We prove that on the finitely generated free MV-algebras the only automorphism-invariant truth averaging process that detects pseudotrue propositions is the integral with respect to Lebesgue measure.

The automorphism group of accessible groups

In this article, we study the outer automorphism group of a group G decomposed as a finite graph of group with finite edge groups and finitely generated vertex groups with at most one end. We show that Out(G) is essentially obtained by taking extensions of relative automorphism groups of vertex groups, groups of Dehn twists and groups of automorphisms of free products. We apply this description...
