Measurement of Conversion Coefficients in Normal and Triaxial Strongly Deformed Bands in 167Lu
نویسندگان
چکیده
Internal conversion coefficients have been measured for transitions in both normal deformed and triaxial strongly deformed bands in 167 Lu using the Gammasphere and ICE Ball spectrometers. The results for all in-band transitions are consistent with E2 multipolarity. Upper limits are determined for the internal conversion coefficients for linking transitions between TSD Band 2 and TSD Band 1, the n w = 1 and n w = 0 wobbling bands, respectively.

Quadrupole Moment Measurements of TSD1 and TSD2 Bands in 167Lu
The triaxial strongly deformed (TSD) bands in 167Lu were populated by the 123Sb(48Ca, 4n) reaction with a beam energy of 203 MeV. Gamma rays, requiring five fold or more in prompt coincidence, were detected with the Gammasphere spectrometer. Of particular interests are TSD bands 1 and 2 which have previously been interpreted as zero phonon and one phonon wobbling bands, respectively. Using the ...

متن کاملBeyond band termination in 157Er and the search for wobbling excitations in strongly deformed 174Hf
High-spin terminating bands in heavy nuclei were first identified in nuclei around Er90. While examples of special terminating states have been identified in a number of erbium isotopes, almost nothing is known about the states lying beyond band termination. In the present work the high-spin structure of 157Er has been studied using the Gammasphere spectrometer. The subject of triaxial superdef...
متن کاملNuclear magnetic dipole properties and the triaxial deformation
Nuclear magnetic dipole properties of ground bands and γ-vibrational bands are studied for the first time using the triaxial projected shell model approach. The study is carried out for the Dy and Er isotopic chains, ranging from transitional to well-deformed region. It is found that the g-factor ratio of the 2 state in ground bands to that of γ-bands, r = g(2, γ-vib)/g(2, ground), varies along...
