A Simple Sequentially Rejective Multiple Test Procedure
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a simple and widely applicable multiple test procedure of the sequentially rejective type, i.e. hypotheses are rejected one at a tine until no further rejections can be done. It is shown that the test has a prescribed level of significance protection against error of the first kind for any combination of true hypotheses. The power properties of the test and a number of possible applications are also discussed.

A graphical approach to sequentially rejective multiple test procedures.
For clinical trials with multiple treatment arms or endpoints a variety of sequentially rejective, weighted Bonferroni-type tests have been proposed, such as gatekeeping procedures, fixed sequence tests, and fallback procedures. They allow to map the difference in importance as well as the relationship between the various research questions onto an adequate multiple test procedure. Since these ...
متن کاملMultiple testing along a tree
Suitable sequentially rejective multiple test procedures allow to “zoom in” on clusters of relevant variables in high-dimensional regression (Meinshausen [7]), or on regions of interest in some search space (Heinrich et al. [3]; Meinshausen et al. [8]). As a common framework for these schemes we propose to consider multiple testing along a tree of hypotheses together with a “keep rejecting unti...
متن کاملAdaptive graph-based multiple testing procedures
Multiple testing procedures defined by directed, weighted graphs have recently been proposed as an intuitive visual tool for constructing multiple testing strategies that reflect the often complex contextual relations between hypotheses in clinical trials. Many well-known sequentially rejective tests, such as (parallel) gatekeeping tests or hierarchical testing procedures are special cases of t...

متن کاملTime-frequency classification using a multiple hypotheses test: an application to the classification of humpback whale signals
We present a non-stationary signal classi cation algorithm based on a time-frequency representation and a multiple hypothesis test. The time-frequency representation is used to construct a time-dependent quadratic discriminant function. At selected points in time we evaluate the discriminant function and form a set of statistics which are used to test the multiple hypotheses. The multiple hypot...
