چکیده

In standard planar first-passage percolation [11] each pair x and y of nearest-neighbor of Z has an edge connecting them and each edge is equipped with a non-negative random variable (passage time) which may be interpreted as the time it takes for an infection to be transmitted from x to y. We assume these random variables are i.i.d. with a continuous distribution F. The passage time t(γ) for a nearest-neighbor path γ is simply the sum of the passage times along the path. For x,y ∈ Z, the first-passage time from x to y, which we denote T (x,y), is the infimum of t(γ) over all paths γ from x to y. For t ≥ 0, let B(t) be the set of sites x reached from the origin 0 by time t, i.e. T (0,x) ≤ t. One may think of sites in x ∈ B(t) as infected and those in B(t) as healthy, and that at time 0 the origin 0 is infected by some type of disease. The process {

A Multi-type Shape Theorem for Fpp Models

We consider a competing spatial growth dynamics permitting that more than one cluster develop in the same environment given by a first-passage percolation model on a Delaunay triangulation of the plane. We focus on the long time behavior of these competing clusters and derive some limit theorems related to the morphology of this multi-type growth process.

3D shape measurement based on projection of triangular patterns of two selected frequencies.

In this paper, a temporal shift unwrapping technique is presented for solving the problem of shift wrapping associated with spatial shift estimation (SSE)-based fringe pattern profilometry (FPP). Based on this technique, a novel 3D shape measurement method is proposed, where triangular patterns of two different spatial frequencies are projected. The patterns of the higher frequency are used to ...

Relationship between fermented papaya preparation supplementation, erythrocyte integrity and antioxidant status in pre-diabetics.

Erythrocytes and their membranes are favorable models to study the relationship between diabetes and susceptibility of erythrocytes to oxidative stress damage. The recommendation for the use of fermented papaya preparation (FPP) as a functional food for dietary management of type 2 diabetes was evaluated by assessing its effect on the human antioxidant status and erythrocyte integrity on a mult...

A Shape Theorem for Riemannian First-passage Percolation

Riemannian first-passage percolation (FPP) is a continuum analogue of standard FPP on the lattice, where the discrete passage times of standard FPP are replaced by a random Riemannian metric. We prove a shape theorem for this model— that balls in this metric grow linearly in time—and from this conclude that the metric is complete.

Fractional Poisson Process

For almost two centuries, Poisson process with memoryless property of corresponding exponential distribution served as the simplest, and yet one of the most important stochastic models. On the other hand, there are many processes that exhibit long memory (e.g., network traffic and other complex systems). It would be useful if one could generalize the standard Poisson process to include these p...
