ATPase activity is present in macrophages but cytochalasin B did not affect this. Dr. Coffey: I would think that more experiments are needed in this area; an effect on ATPase is still a possibility. Dr. Reed: I agree that that is a possibility, tilough very unlikely since the patients received a large dose of potassium iodide to promote excretion of the radioactivity.
